'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

247 is a SCAM !!!!
Welp, this place would be dead without services. They aren't always great, but I sure don't want to go back to the olden days of 1-pagers in the gas station from Tony in Whiteburg with his list of "Tennessee's 10 Best" every Summer. It could be a lot worse.

We beat SC if Drew Richmond doesn’t hold on a touchdown or false start, etc. I think he did both of those things I for sure know he cost us a touchdown.
.
Yeah but if he isn't in the game to begin with, then we would have been playing...TATUM/NIEHAUS?. The alternatives last year were just that much worse.

My favorite part was someone shot right back with Calloway's speed etc., (very similar)and how low he was ranked.

No response..
Yeah but do he 7v7??

But seriously, what is his speed? Is he Hyatt fast? I would love a couple burners. This staff seems to get speed. Butch just wanted tall guys that could never get separation. I didn't get it.

Personally, I have no issue separating their stories from their rankings. I like any news we get but there might be 3 recruits total that I have even the slightest clue where they're ranked.

Find them to be better reporters than scouts, which makes sense because...

Good points. But they need to be exposed and this is how it happens. They need to change some things. Keeping it as it is is inaccurate and bias. Should not be a surprise or out of the question to change some things when there are inaccuracies to their system. If I were the head of one of these services, I’d want to change to as accurate as possible but no, they double and triple down and that’s the problem. They don’t see a reason to change.

Yeah, there's certainly 2 different sides to all the services. There's the analysts...then there's the school reporters. Can certainly like some without liking the rest. Though I have gathered VN seems to hate it all lol. Hate Farrell, hate Barton, hate Wes, Callahan sucks, Simonton is an idiot, and Hubbs does that creepy tongue thing.

But Ubben is liked...for now. Probably only because he's still fairly new to us haha

The fewest pass attempts in the league.
And 3rd down conversation on the ground. When JG gets sacked it counts a "rush". Part of that low conversion is him
Per Bill Connely, 32.6% of our rush attempts last year, not counting sacks, were stuffed at our behind the line of scrimmage, that was dead last in FBS, and again that DID NOT count sacks. I'll take Bill Connely's statistical analysis over yours or basically anyone else's anyday, and his analysis is that JG was pretty decent last year if he had any time, which he rarely did, and might be even better this year if he has any sort of a run game.

How would you say they become more accurate? Or what is acceptable as far as accuracy goes? Genuine questions. I'm not sure what the barometer would be, besides comparing, say 247 to Rivals or ESPN and vice versa. But if we're talking the entire industry, I'm not sure what bar would be set. All I can think is to find attributes, stats, modeling, etc that match past results better than your current ways of doing things. Or have a Saban-level guy or NFL scouts evaluate your system. But they certainly talk a lot to NFL scouts, so I'd say they already have some of that input.

Simmons did talk a good bit in the podcast about ways they have changed things to better match draft results. He said they have found one of the best correlations to be multi-sport athletes (for some positions). He said this is its strongest when it comes to LBs. Not so much at WR where specific skills are better predictors, such as ball skills and route running.

Also found interesting this tidbit - there has been a walk-on TE drafted each of the last 3 years. He went on to talk more about that, but can't remember what he said now about TEs and their attributes that made them successful while staying under the radar, even to all the programs.

I avoid saying "VN" with these type things. Just because you see a lot of 'likes' on posts taking shots at 2 different reporters, doesn't mean it's the same posters liking both.
Several of your remarks suggest you don't give people around you much credit but I would at least be wary of assuming a hive mentality.

Reasons/explications why they rank a kid where they do would be a great start. Don’t just throw up some arbitrary number and say “he fast”.

What are we looking at? Just the "he's really fast" thing? I came for JUICY. GIMME JUICE. I WAS PROMISED JUICE.

I mean,name another time a recruiting “analyst” gave a smarta$$ remark regarding a commits 40 or 100m time,who’s committed to the school he covers recruiting for👀👀🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ Not a good look.thats JUICE🍊🍊

Not being a smart azz here but, seriously did you read any of the earlier tweets in this thread on the dumb stuff 247 kept saying after the re-rank. It was cringe worthy circle the wagons garbage.

Earlier tweets? I probably saw them, but I don't remember anything juicy. Someone said Callahan is a joke and I came here expecting him going nuts or slamming guys. He responded with 7v7 and how fast the kid was. It must be a slow weekend. Between this and 2 guys debating 1 throw from Maurer, we really need a commit.

Suggest you go back into the thread and find the tweets. It would help explain why 247 is getting hammered, not just by our fan base but, everyone.

I'm confused. Arian Smith is uncommitted. And if you mean Callahan, he's a reporter, not an analyst.

You listen to KW Sr podcast from yesterday “Toe the Line?” He makes several cases that are unexplainable from 247.

I just see Simmons saying the same thing Callahan said "speed/7v7", then some twitterer said he doesn't know how to break down film...when the film is not of him playing at WR, but QB. Like, some of these twitter folks are trying hard not to comprehend things.

Fwiw, that dude's HUDL is crazy. He looks stupid fast. We need to drop a fat bag off at his doorstep.
