It's like that scene in Titanic where the Irishman is explaining that the ship can stay afloat if there is water in 4 compartments but not 5, and at that point each compartment will fill up and the water will flow over the water tight bulkheads into the next compartment and sinking is now a mathematical certainty. Well, I think Pruitt's tenure is there. I've just lost my faith in this regime. Maybe, I'm wrong. I'd be glad to be wrong, we'll see. I really like chatting with you guys here in the RF, so I'll refrain from further doom and gloom. I do hope we hold onto HB.
You’ve made yourself very clear over and over and over about Pruitt. How about just nut up and pick a time when he’s let go. None of that could be this year or the next or the next crap. You know as well as everybody else the titanic thing was taken out of context and used as knock against him.Hey Pruitt first compared us to the Titanic, not me. And I've never said Pruitt was going to be fired this year, I don't know whether he will be or not, no one does. I think he's in a death spiral though.
Nobody knows. Nobody. I don't think he makes it past next year, but I'm not confident he makes it that long. Vandy fired a guy in year 2 in the 90's whose record was about what Pruitt's will be if he goes 2-10, will we really have lower standards than Vandy did? We are losing to them regularly now, so maybe so.You’ve made yourself very clear over and over and over about Pruitt. How about just nut up and pick a time when he’s let go. Let's keep firing and hiring coaches, it's worked for the last 10 years. We never have any type of stability/culture if we keep firing. It sucks, because our fan base is so passionate, but we are also so impatient. Deal with average seasons and top 15-18 classes and go from there. We are NOT the same UT and everyone needs to realize that. We aren't competing for Natty's anytime soon, so we need to stop acting like we are the 90's UT, we aren't. The sooner we all realize we aren't the past anymore the sooner we can all be patient and give Pruitt time. Look, I get we shouldn't be 1-3, but that's how sports work.Nobody knows. Nobody. EDIT: And the Titanic thing was beyond dumb for him to utter the words. He also needed to steer clear of Hindenburg, Waterloo and Mike Dukakis. Thankfully, he did that.
I thought we gave Butch sufficient time. Dooley, 3 years, that's a short tenure, but it was enough to know we weren't going anywhere with him. Georgia State just really soured me on Pruitt, I don't see how you lose that game, that was a black swan event to me. I was excited about the way recruiting was going, we really had momentum, it's just unfortunate, really unfortunate. Now with this season having unfolded the way it is, my concern is that he won't be able to get the players he needs. I was really ticked the Sunday after the GSU game, after all these years and the lows we've been through I didn't know I still had that raw of a nerve that could be touched, but that did it for me. I don't hate Pruitt as a person. I like Fulmer, I've argued with lots of people on here that he should never have been fired. I just feel like the writing is on the wall. If we come out on fire and give UGA game tomorrow though, I'll be as happy as anybody. I'll be glad to be wrong if it means success for the Vols.Let's keep firing and hiring coaches, it's worked for the last 10 years. We never have any type of stability/culture if we keep firing.
