apparently Auburn has made this a lot closer than we all thought
-CallahanFOUR-STAR RB SET TO MAKE FINAL CHOICE
It’s still clearly a two-team race between Tennessee and Auburn for four-star running back Justin Williams of East Paulding High School in Dallas, Ga. The former West Virginia commitment returned to Tennessee over the weekend for his official visit with the Vols, making his third trip to Knoxville within the past month. Tennessee has been the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite to land him over the past few weeks, and sources close to his recruitment believe the Vols are still in good shape as he prepares to announce his final decision Wednesday morning.
But sources said there’s just enough mystery about how much Auburn might have improved its standing with the 6-foot, 205-pound Williams down the stretch to maintain some suspense leading up to Wednesday. There are multiple reasons Tennessee still should be viewed as the team to beat. But Williams remained interested in the Tigers even before they extended an offer to him on Nov. 27, so the Vols still might be somewhat uneasy until they receive a final answer from him.
And they don’t have an offensive coordinator.I don't fully understand the Auburn shine right now. They finished 6-6, looked ugly in some of their games, have a coach that has been looking to bolt back to the West Coast at the first opportunity that comes his way, and are losing a ton of talent to the transfer portal.
Nothing about Auburn spells "upward trajectory" right now. If I actually gambled, I'd probably but good money on Harsin being gone within the next 2 years. He doesn't fit there.
