‘23 GA S Jack Luttrell (Tennessee transfer)

I mean there called "Highlight" videos for a reason.Imma be honest between work, kids and life itself i barely have time to sleep. If u have thousands of hours to watch tape and review plays/players then more power to ya.Personally I think most are fos and have no clue how much work goes into recruiting!

Luttrell recorded five tackles and a pass breakup on defense, returned a kickoff 36 yards and added a 15-yard punt return Friday night in Colquitt County's 24-6 win at Valdosta (Ga.) High School. He also punted four times for a 38-yard average, dropping two of his kicks inside the 20-yard line. The Packers will travel to Richmond Hill (Ga.) High School on Friday night.

My main point is that this staff has earned at least some degree of deference. They aren't stargazers either. But they know how to see talent and develop it. If they think Luttrell can be a quality SEC safety... I'll buy.

Folks who watch highlight videos and then want to make declarations about someone the staff may not want being better than someone they obviously do want... I think those folks have an issue.

I'm not talking about blind trust either. There were several Jones 4* recruits who weren't even FCS quality talents. He didn't earn the trust that he knew how to find or develop talent. I really don't think you can argue that about the current staff.
Butch wasn't totally awful at finding talent that wasn't ranked high. (Moseley, Sutton, etc)
"Heupel" is what Butch wanted to be i think.

The highlights spotlight potential at best. Whole film shows you where they need to improve. But I don't do that anymore. It's far too time consuming to no be compensated for it.

The specific issue in this thread AND the Boo Carter thread, AND the Cam Seldon thread is:
1) Some people simply lack reading comprehension. They just don't read well enough.

2) Don't know enough about football.

3) They can't judge from an unbiased point of view.

- I told Boo Carter's mom that she shouldn't come on to any site and catch an attitude or get offended because people were comparing her son to NFL players (out of excitement). Last time I checked Tennessee is 8-0 and there isn't a Boo Carter in Orange and White. I'm not going to kiss anyone'sass because they happen to be a relative of a recruit

...mind you, I DID NOT catch an attitude with her. And now all of a sudden according to @swchandler1988 , Im dogging Boo Carter HIMSELF???? He and those other asshats can kick rocks!

- I said Cam Seldon "would never be a starter". And then CLEARLY explained that he was an offensive weapon that you could never scheme for... so there was no use in pegging him in a starting position . I explained how all variations and calls of a defense come from the base defense. This base defense practices against these calls based on a BASE offense. Cat and mouse or what not, and then explained how CP and Deboo were guys that actually were creating their own position in the NFL. Then I even used Reggie Bush as an example of massive production despite not being a "starter" but for only 14 games out of 39 played.
But again...lack of football knowledge and people just not being being able to read leads me to be AGAINST THE 2023 RECRUITING. 🙄.

- Luttrell. I've never said ONE bad thing about him. I've been in his boat since the beginning...but oh! I happened to notice his own teammates (Lyric Thomas) was a better player. Despite not being ranked at all. Thomas has been awarded Defense Player of The week TWICE in an extremely competitive conference. The same defense that Luttrell is on. So there goes that argument right there that I may or may not be Stargazing.

There are some straight idiots on here!!
If I supposedly didn't like Luttrell because he's a 3 star...then WTF would I want his teammate to be a Vol instead- whos UNRANKED???🙄. A zero star!

Illogical people. That's the most annoying thing to me. People that literally can't disseminate easy information...smh.

Gotta trust the staff, but I'm still wondering if this guy is part of the class when the dust settles.

Prolly not exactly what he wanted, but his team got beat tonight in the semifinals by Carrollton. He had a nice punt return for a TD though.
Dang Julian Lewis leading that team as a freshman. Haven't watched him yet but just what he has done as an 8th and 9th grader alone is as impressive as anything

Yeah. You (or at least I) can't tell he's a freshman by the way he plays and carries himself. I think before last night's game had already thrown for 300 more yards than Trevor Lawrence did as a freshman. Granted, I think he's played a couple of extra games so far.

Dude is SPECIAL. One of the best I’ve ever watched as a freshman. Better than Lawerence at the same age. Now it’s all about can he keep developing. Time will tell.

This guy is a beast! Can’t wait to see him playing in orange and white.

Really like to know the game situation and details on that fake punt from just outside his endzone. Loved his kick returns, see the hole hit the hole. Sometimes it is the seeing that sets returners apart.

Kid is a stud. **** his ranking
Here is my take idc to be labeled a nega. He doesn’t have in-the-box safety size, or elite top end sideline-to-sideline deep safety speed. He has quick short area burst. I honestly think he could move to slot WR. And if he excels at safety, or maybe they put a little weight on him and try him at STAR, he does well, that’s awesome. But he’s been 100% Vol from the jump and he’s got the versatility so I have zero issues with us giving this kid a scholarship.

From what I saw and what I was told, is that he is bigger than his listed weight. This was an eye test though so take it for what it’s worth.

I don't know about top end speed, but he is very quick. Might not be a bad slot guy.
