-Chad SimmonsGeorgia has picked things up with Hayward since early in the season, and he visited Athens over the weekend, but I am hearing nothing on my end about Georgia being a strong player/concern here at this time.
I am sure Georgia will keep trying, but Hayward is expected back in Knoxville the next two weeks and he is saying all the right things on my end.
-VQGeorgia athlete Shaedy Hayward will roll back into town this weekend coming off a visit to Georgia last weekend. As national analyst Chad Simmons pointed out earlier in the week, Hayward continues to say really good things about Tennessee on all fronts, but he is also still taking visits so you have to watch that.
We need this kid to start next year. Our lack of top100 recruits in the defensive backfield shows with our lack of INTs and game changing plays.
He’s not a cornerWhat are you talking about? Our secondary has been elite this year. Especially our corners. IMO there ain't a better trio in the country than Jermod McCoy, Rickey Gibson, and Boo Carter. I wouldn't trade them for anyone. And all three are either true sophomores and true freshman so they're only going to get better.
BS.Griffin's pledge could mark the first of several dominos to fall for Georgia in the closing stages of the 2025 cycle as the Bulldogs seek to land their ninth-consecutive top-three class dating back to 2017. Georgia continues to chase Terry, ESPN's No. 7 prospect out of Manchester, Georgia, and have made strides in recent weeks toward potential flips of ESPN 300 safeties Eric Winters (Auburn commit) and Lagonza Hayward Jr. (Tennessee commit).
Griffin, top DT in 2025 class, chooses Georgia
Five-star defensive tackle Elijah Griffin, ESPN's top uncommitted prospect in the 2025 class, committed to Georgia over Miami and USC Friday afternoon, closing a critical late-cycle recruitments seven weeks before the start of the early signing period.www.espn.com
