We have a great LBer room now, he needs to stick on the backend at S or Star and pick up the last area of need.
Kid is next year’s Boo Carter, day 1 starter/contributor. If the other safeties can’t keep Will Brooks off the field they stand no chance against this beast. My new favorite football quote, “he plays with a hot motor”.

He’s such a big body kid. And he plays over the field.

He honestly could play WR for Pope he’s that athletic.

Same was said about Jon Slaughter as well, so I’m a little discouraged he’s not getting any mention about being the starter.

It took a while for Turrentine to take hold as well. 2 years.

I’ll be thrilled if he maintains the quickness needed for Safety.

He’s likely playing Star for us - if I had to bet.

We need another true S in this class.

The hardest part about playing safety in this defense is being able to make all the calls for the secondary quickly. I think that's why it takes guys so long to Crack the line up. It's not lack of physical ability.

And that comes down to coaching.

You have to find a happy medium in order to get your guys with talent on the field.

Will Brooks will have to play regardless, but it would be nice to see our 6’3 safety who was All Everything in Mississippi come to play this year

I think he'll definitely see the field this year. Turrentine and Brooks will start game 1 though. Then we'll see Slaughter, Christian Charles, and Jakobe Thomas rotate with those guys early on. The starters could be totally different by the Oklahoma game.

Visiting Georgia today

It's a great game to go see. Should be the best SEC game today in most people's minds. You never like to see this type of visit but I feel confident it's more of a trip for free to see a game in his home state school's rivalry series vs another school that is also located close to where he has grown up.

I think he knows we are building something special at UT and we need safeties. He definitely has not seen any of our current guys look like they will be an obstacle to him starting. Good talent and well coached but nobody playing that a talent like Shady can't beat out..... and a ton of Front 7 and CB talent to make his job easier and help him look better when he hits the field.

Get him back up to UT one of the next 2 weekends.

Next weekend. Much higher chance for a win and a tremendously happy environment if we destroy UF. Not as sexy as the Bama game but can immediately overshad this week's trip to UGA for him. Especially if UGA struggles at all then you get Shady back up IMMEDIATELY for the UF game.

Georgia is showing him all the Willie Martinez coaching woes right now. I don’t blame the kid if he chooses them with how bad our secondary is every single year.
