Never forget fireronzook.com. I guess the modern Florida fans don’t care as much as the previous generation because Billy is objectively worse. That's one game. They were also blown out at home by Miami and Texas A&M .... and blown out on the road by Texas.
Billy Napier's 18-19 record through his first 3 seasons at Florida is worse than Ron Zook's (23-15), Will Muschamp's (22-16), Jim McElwain's (22-12) and Dan Mullen's (29-9) through their first 3 seasons at Florida - AND BY A LOT.
.... and after having a top 5 rated class for most of the 2023 recruiting cycle, it fell apart just before the early signing period began last December, and they finished with a pretty mediocre class.
Billy Napier is shaping up to be the worst head football coach that Florida has had since pre-Spurrier.
Uh the fact that UF won 8 games and he is worse than Zook? As much as I hate to say it, Napier did one hell of a coaching job this season. Most on here said they will be lucky to win 5 games.Never forget fireronzook.com. I guess the modern Florida fans don’t care as much as the previous generation because Billy is objectively worse.
What has Billy done in 3 years at UF? He is 1-2 vs both us and LSU, and 0-3 vs UGA. Got smoked by Miami this year too. Did you know their roster ranks higher in talent than ours this year? By that metric, he significantly underperformed.Uh the fact that UF won 8 games and he is worse than Zook? As much as I hate to say it, Napier did one hell of a coaching job this season. Sunbelt Billy is undefeated against UT in Gainesville. With his current roster and QB, and momentum I do not see that changing this year, especially if it is a TV night game. What has Billy done in 3 years at UF? Their losses all point to mismanagement this year too. Who calls for a Jet Sweep on 4th and 1? Who decides not to go for two when you get the final thing score in regulation, then call the worst series of plays in overtime? Billy fumbled the upset away against us this year.
Winning against Ole Miss this year is great and all, but he has done almost nothing else. Is signature win last year was against an eventual 8-4 Tennessee.
we don't have to look any further than OSU losing to Michigan. everyone, including their fans wrote them all off after that one loss. One game does not destroy a program, but the reaction to it can. The program can either learn from the loss and get better, or get worse. I am hoping it gets better.
Either way, this season was progress. The preseason expectations universally, whether it was online blogs, fans on here and other message boards, or talk radio, was that Vols would go 9-3 but had a shot at 10-2, and if 10-2 then we had a great chance of making the playoffs. So the result against OSU aside, we exceeded expecations. Now we get Nico back with a year under his belt next year, let's see what happens before we start jumping off bridges.
But if you do want to jump, Henley Street bridge has often been used for that purpose. I don't recommend it though.
Ohio State is actually a great team that was not playing great. The talent is in place. Whatever their internal issues were we'll never know. But they got them ironed out obviously.we don't have to look any further than OSU losing to Michigan. everyone, including their fans wrote them all off after that one loss.
then they turn around and boat race two teams in the playoffs and look like world beaters.
we are better than we played against OSU. not saying we would have won, or it would have been a nail biter, but we are better than that.Ohio State is actually a great team that was not playing great. Some other team that doesn't have the same talent won't magically turn it around and start to win games that they should not. Winning is more that a hope and prayer. You must have what it takes.

something seemed to have happened after the regular season. a lot of transfers out before the bowl game on some key depth pieces hurt us. The WRs leaving says something is going on. and there have been multiple reports with people saying players played in the playoffs even knowing they were going into the portal. something more than the Jimmy and Joes was/is going on.
OSU passing game came alive, just like in our game. last I checked our WRs don't defend theirs. No idea what, if anything, is going on at Oregon.OSU dismantled Oregon on a neutral field after us. Guess something happened to them too
His coaching or lack there of is why we won when we played them. He beat an ole Miss team who lost at home to Kentucky and an extremely mid LSU team that was collapsing at the end of the season. Florida has the talent to keep themselves in a lot of games just not the coaching to win at an high levelI don't get the people on here who say Napier won't make it. What he did last year was remarkable. He was dead in the water early in the year and the team did not quit on him. One of the toughest schedules in the country and they rallied for a 7-5 season. Say what you want, that's a reall good job of coaching.

I think that's his point. The only thing that "happened" to us is that we played a team with more talent than we did, just like Oregon did.OSU passing game came alive, just like in our game. last I checked our WRs don't defend theirs. No idea what, if anything, is going on at Oregon.
you really want to argue Oregon has the same talent issue we have? They are 10 spots ahead of us, and only 3 behind OSU and looked worse than we did. I find it hard to see a talent argument from those results.
the talent argument says the Oregon OSU game should have been much much much closer than the UT OSU game. but it wasn't.I think that's his point. The only thing that "happened" to us is that we played a team with more talent than we did, just like Oregon did.
Ohio St. has more talent than anyone, only they are just now starting to play like it.
