‘23 GA SDE Victor Burley (Clemson commit)

I may be getting way ahead of myself and dismissing them early, but I’m not worried about Clemson anymore in recruiting.

Two teams going in opposite directions.

I was shocked that Dabo didn’t make changes in offense by bringing in an outside voice. Defense I understand as the system still works so if you trust the guy then roll with consistency. However offense was dysfunctional and they just promoted a guy already heavily part of the dysfunction. Tells me he truly believes Dj is the problem and not his scheme

I think last season was the signal of the end of Clemson dominance of the ACC and I think the shine is off of Dabo too.

He is scheduled to visit April 1-3 but Price just indicated sometime in next several weeks .It would be better if he were to come on April 9/10 when Nico,Tate, and Kasper are visiting ...hope that takes place.

I haven't seen that April 1-3 time, where have you seen that?
Thanks

Their offensive line was atrocious last year

I think the NIL is the end of the Clemson run. They don’t have the national fanbase to support it.
don't necessarily need it if you get a good collective going. it certainly helps, don't get me wrong. but i firmly believe that for the top tier programs at the D1 level, there won't ever NOT be enough money to compete with each other.

SEC schools are going to eat everyone alive with the NIL. Football is a religion down here. People will put up their last dollars to see their team win.
My buddies from up north always talk about it when they are down here. They can’t believe all of the college gear they see people wearing.
Spyre could sell Spyre sports I gave my all for TN shirts for $59.99, 200,000 would sell just so people could show they gave money to help the program. It’s not happening in other parts of the country.
Same goes for Bama, Florida, LSU, A&M, Auburn, Georgia. They will all get big time donations for NIL . I just don’t see Clemson with those rabid fans. They lost most of their bandwagon fans last year.

I am a member everywhere ( Rivals,247,ESPN ) and picked it up from one of his recent interviews .I just do not remember which site it was.

Cool. I definitely haven't seen it anywhere and only heard AP say it would be in the coming weeks. Hopefully you're recalling it correctly, guess we'll know soon.

I don’t think you guys understand that programs are basically playing catch up to our NIL program and this includes Bama and Georgia. We have effectively set the bar…

True. Just hope they don't rest on their laurels. I believe there is a way to manage NIL fees and revenues that can lead to revenues measured in 8 or even 9 digits rather than 7. $25 million primarily through donations is impressive. But there is an opportunity to truly monetize NIL that could make UT dominant perpetually.

Pretty much. Well, everyone except Vandy. That program is about to get left in the dust even more than they already are which is crazy. With the admission requirements they can’t even just go pay huge NIL for just anybody. Even when it comes to transfers they have no chance. Yesterday they got transfer commits from guys out of Cal Poly and North Texas. They need to go play in the AAC or something. For them It only gets worse from here with NIL and Transfer Portal.

It is a matter of will. What if the doctors who graduated from Vandy would pool their resources?

But... they are unlikely to ever have the will needed to compete.

You are right about them dropping to a conference they can compete in. Previously they could compete in other sports but even that will be gone with NIL.

I would like to see the NCAA show some intelligence and forward thinking rather than fighting the tidal wave. Maybe create a separate league made up of 6 conferences of 12 teams each. Some current P-5 programs would be dropped while some like Cincy or Houston get promoted. You could then have a 8 team playoff of conference champs plus two at large. A team wouldn't be punished for playing a tough schedule and having a couple of losses. Scheduling weak OOC opponents would no longer be advantageous.

That's just one idea. There are many others. But NIL is going to result in a complete realignment and restructuring of college sports.... the NCAA can organize it or else get trampled in the stampede.

Anything that hurts Vandy is good for us. We don't need anyone even wanting to challenge the idea that UT is the flagship university of the state when it comes to football.

no, like i said, "IF YOU get a good collective going...". it's predicated on that, not necessarily a fan base. if you have both, like we do, then it certainly helps.

Vandy’s athletes don’t have to qualify academically at the same level as their student body and neither do UT’s athletes.
