and fell off from being on that elite level last yr despite having more talent than anyone in their league.


Venables was the key there and its not really a secret.

I'm interested to see how they look this yr.

Dabo is a good coach and salesman. Clemson is a nice college town. Sometimes I think we hone in on just the few things we see and ignore a million things that might influence a kid's decision that we know nothing about. Maybe they took him to a restaurant that he fell in love with. Maybe he likes the campus layout. Maybe he met someone who works in the office that reminded him of his favorite uncle. There are all kinds of things that contribute to someone liking or not liking a place, job, school, etc that we don't ever factor in here.

PS- In the era of the portal... where a guy signs initially doesn't have the finality it once did. This is a great weekend for even the guys who don't sign with UT. They'll have a memory if things don't go as planned at their first stop. The relationships built with things like this may bear later fruit.

New video with him from VQ. Sounds like he had a good visit and got to spend good time with coaches and players. Said they pulled out "all the stops" for him. Said it put us "Near the top, close to the frontrunners."

He said he had OV lined up to Georgia, Michigan St and Ohio State. No mention of Clemson OV. Most people have pegged him to Clemson.
