'19 GA TE Sean Brown (Tennessee signee)

If a tree falls in the forest, but no one is around to hear it, did it make a noise?

If the tree had an agreement with that ONE somebody? To give them an interview they could release after the CRASH?

If they are "silent" how would VQ hear it?

Just because it’s silent doesn’t mean some people don’t know. You don’t always have to hear one to know someone farted on an elevator.

But to your question - those guys interview recruits and shoot commitment videos. Pretty sure they’ve come out and said previously after a recruit makes an announcement publicly, that they (recruit) told them (Simonton/price/etc) they were silent after a previous visit, etc.

I was being facetious but cool story.

No longer announcing this weekend.

"I have decided to push my decision back," said Brown. "I just want to take a few more visits and make sure before I commit somewhere. I am just not ready yet."

No visits have been scheduled yet, but they likely will come later this month or early in June, once Brown completes his junior year. He knows he will travel to Baton Rouge and Oxford. "I have been talking to Ole Miss and LSU coaches every day for a while now and I want to get out to visit both schools.

"Coach [Maurice] Harris from Ole Miss has been talking to me a lot about their offense and how they want to bring a more versatile tight end back in. They had Evan Engram a few years ago and they want to bring another one in like that. Coach has been telling me that I am the type of tight end who can help expand their offense.

"With LSU, I grew up watching them and Alabama a lot and I love their intensity. They play tough, they play to win and that stands out. I talk to coach [Steve] Ensminger and he's been telling me about how he wants to bring the tight end back into their offense more. "I don't really know too much about either school yet, so that is why I need to get out there for visits." Both the Tigers and the Rebels are playing a little catch up. Another school in the SEC may hold the edge.

Tennessee offered Brown earlier in the recruiting process and they Vols have had him on campus four times this year already. He has established relationships there and he's very comfortable in Knoxville. "Tennessee is definitely still high on my list," said Brown. "Nothing has changed there. I have been high on them for a while. Coach [Jeremy] Pruitt is going to turn that program around I think. "They have some real history there, they have produced some tight ends and playing in a stadium like Neyland would be great, so I am still looking hard at Tennessee."

Auburn is another school Brown has been high on. They picked up a commitment over the weekend from Tyler Fromm, another tight end in Georgia, so we will see if that changes things on either side moving forward. Brown said he now plans to make a decision before his senior year. He said "late July" when asked for a timeline.

Tennessee still feels confident here but the Vols will have to play this one out longer. I believe a couple staffers are scheduled to be by Brown's school at the end of this week, too.

I still like UT's chance fwiw... We will see how it shakes out.

can't blame him, and if i'm on this staff, i support the crap out of his decision, and encourage him to go on those visits.

from his comments i don't get the feeling he's looking for reasons not to commit to TN, as much as he is just making sure he's made the right decision.

I can actually appreciate this. Tells me he takes the commitment serious.

I'd rather he take his time and be sure. In the end, I think he'll find all he's looking for in Tennessee. We have an offense that'll utilize the TE. He has an established relationship with the coaching staff. Our facilities are top notch. And he's good friends with Jackson Lowe.

Ole Miss and LSU are doing what every other school does when recruiting a player that is nearing a decision and that's to say give us a look before you commit. Also reminding them that they'll still be after them until NSD.

Good for him. This is the time to go have your fun and make the best decision possible.

Unless your name is Wanya.

I made a Crystal Ball pick for Tennessee on three-star tight end Sean Brown of Rome, Ga. He has talked about announcing his decision on Saturday, and while he has wavered on that recently, I do think there’s still a chance he could announce something soon.

Right now, it still sounds like Tennessee is in good shape. Honestly, I thought I had made a prediction for Brown before today. But the Vols have hosted him four times since early March and still appear to be the team to beat right now, although Auburn still is pushing for him and LSU and Ole Miss recently have offered.
