'24 GA WR Mike Matthews (Tennessee)

We missed on all of them and still had a top 10 class? Lol none of them have yet to prove that they are better than the people we signed 11-2 2 years removed from 3-7 you would think that would buy the staff a little good faith seeing as that was the best team we have had since the national champs in 98… could possibly argue 01 as well either way trust the staff n worry bout who we get we will get our share and we will continue to miss our share part of the game… the culture is set and we will develop players year in and year out.
Oh I love what they’ve done on the field there’s no question about that. I trust Heupel to field a good offense and talent to be developed right, but Kirby is developing every position but WR better than we are and is recruiting at a much higher level. If the staff can’t start winning big time recruiting battles and locking down the state last year will likely be as good as it will ever get. To actually win the SEC or a National Championship they’re going to have to start landing more top 100 recruits than they miss on. Out of Nwaneri, Franklin, Ross, Matthews, Wingo, Boo, Bates, Mikell, Spillman, and Singleton they need to land at least 6-7 plus Max Anderson and O’Connell and potentially flip DeMello Jones. OL and WR and interior DL recruiting needs to improve significantly or what happened in Athens last year will continue to happen. If going 10-2 last year and beating Alabama after going 3-7 2 years prior isn’t enough to sell recruits on Tennessee I’m not sure what will

Wholeheartedly disagree on the every position except WR. Kirby has had waaay more talent to work with and honestly Hooker was better than Stetson (pretty much everyone would agree with that). Tough to say who develops better when we’re just now going into Year 3 with Heupel and development definitely seems to be happening. As we continue to close the gap in talent then we’ll be able to better analyze who develops what better. Garner is one of if not the top DLine coach in college football and has the track record. We’re just now starting to get the caliber players there that UGA gets.

all of a sudden Georgia might be trending in the right direction for Matthews.
He’s not going to uga. It was clear during his OV that they aren’t a fit for each other. I doubt uga spends much recruiting capital on Matthews going forward, and I doubt Matthews spends any energy thinking about uga.

Tate, Kasper, Benson, Mauigoa, Formby, Sanders, Igbinosun, Fountain, Simmons, Sylvester Smith, Burley, Rojas, Ify, and Fountain are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. We even lost Kam Pringle to a poverty program with a goofus jerkoff of a HC. I’m not going to count Allen and Jackson because they were likely always heading to Georgia and Florida, but they’ve missed on plenty of their fair share of guys they led for at one point. Wingo was pretty much penciled in to this recruiting class 6 months ago as was Boo Carter and now it’s looking like they could miss on both of them and all of a sudden Georgia might be trending in the right direction for Matthews. We’ve gotta start locking those kind of guys down and push them to commit like other schools are. We’re no longer the Tennessee of the past 15 years where we just take guys as they come and finishing second for a bunch of studs is a sign we’re heading in the right direction. That happened all throughout Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt’s era too

Prozac is your friend.

QB - Nico
RB - Seldon / Lewis
WR - Leacock / Matthews / Wingo
TE - Davis / Echols

That’s gotta be the best offense we’ve had on paper.

Hopefully that will be the draw for Matthews and Wingo--- seeing the potential should be a big plus for us. It would be great if Matthews would commit--- I'd bet Wingo seeing this would then pull the trigger. Then go work on the Oline and we are ELITE

Prob pencil in Sham, but other than that, not sure. Haven’t heard much with our tackle targets

Every position? Quite possibly the dumbest thing you’ve said in a string of idiotic posts. What about QB? Unless you’re legit dumb enough to think Bennett was better than Hooker?

How is Kirby developing every position better than we are? Huep is absolutely developing QBs better than Kirby. And we destroy UGA at developing WRs (even before Huepel). And he's taking far less talented players like Byron Young and turning them into NFL players.

you listed Fountain twice, unless I am forgetting someone.
Fountain and Sylvester Smith both lied to our coaches, not willing to put that 100% on our coaches.
Rojas a lot of programs stopped perusing. Barely 100 posts, clearly wasn't a ton of interest.
Mauigoa was straight bought.
I don't ever remember leading for Burley, if you mean '23. He was always a Clemson lean like Brown.
Formby, the '23 who signed with Bama that was from Tuscaloosa? And didn't he have family connections to Bama? Yeah hardly a fail by our coaches. Less than 100 posts, clearly not a lot of interest here.
Kasper was only an option AFTER/because we got Nico. That was a TON of wishful thinking from our fans, doesn't look like he reciprocated very much.
Couldn't find anything on a Benson so you are going to have to be more specific. Went back to page 20 and didn't see any big threads for a Benson.
Sanders we had accepted wasn't coming here.

Tate, Simmons, Ify, were losses. Igbinosun had just over 100 posts and going back we seemed bummed.

To counter that we won some high value battles Carter (Bama), Nico (everyone), Hobbs (UGA), Mathew(LSU), Gibson (UGA) in '23. We have some more wins in '24, '22 we got a couple wins (West and Pearce). and all thats with a still pending NCAA investigation, and sucking for a decade.

no one is going to bat 100%, we are winning some of those as well. we are holding our own well enough against the big dogs. Its not like we are losing borderline 4* to NC State or WVU.

I don’t think smith and fountain lied. I think they changed their minds, as kids do, and were talked into making a decision without giving our coaches the chance to talk them out of it.
