Mike Matthews and his family is eyeing a return visit to Georgia on Thursday. He and has family have had consistent talks with the staff members in Athens for the last few months, and the in-state school is one of the favorites. Based on intel, Clemson and Tennessee, along with Georgia, are the schools others are chasing early in the spring. Matthews is expected to take official visits to all three schools. Each school is in contact with Matthews and his parents almost daily.
He takes a shot at us every chance he gets. He's still bitter that we beat them on their field his senior year after all the trash he talked.Need to continue to bring in elite WR's, a few stud RB's who can catch/block, a TE, and keep that OL humming with new talent. We seem to be making traction on Defense, so O is just as important now--- F'n Pollack saying we may be a flash in the pan... we need to keep restocking in order to build. Transfers are still needed, but building core classes every year is what gets you to the playoff...
The thing is though is he could be right. Everything really hinges on this season and how well Nico develops. If we can go 10-2 we likely sign a top 3-5 class and that sets our roster up to be as good as anyone’s by the time Nico is in his 3rd year on campus. Anything less than that could give the appearance to recruits and transfers that last year was the peak and that 7-9 win regular seasons are the norm and that we’re not on the same level with the schools we’re trying to beat out for the talent needed to win championshipsHe takes a shot at us every chance he gets. True...I was just saying generally speaking, he takes shots at us when the opportunity presents itself. He did it even while we were winning. The thing is though is he could be right.
