Your Climpson buddy is dumber than Gilbert GrapeI have a Clemson buddy that swears to me that Matthews is going to Clemson. I've told him that all the signs are literally pointing away from that and he keeps telling me he is a Clemson lock and that I'll be pissed on commitment day. I don't know if he is trolling or just wishful thinking but nothing I say or do convinces him otherwise
Florida has been trash for like 3 years straight and they're about to land a top 5 class...
We're not doing bad, but we absolutely have to recruit better. Facts.
It's the same argument year after year, and we seem to always make excuses, and forget the previous year
The worst argument about our recruiting is when people talk about how we sucked for 15 years we shouldn't expect to recruit at a high level. Well think of it this way if Duke and Kansas sucked in Bball for 15 years but finally put it together do you think they would struggle to get top 10 classes? We are the 9th greatest program in CFB history we should expect to recruit elite no matter whatUnfortunately can't argue this....

It's making me really mad, but he is highly involved with Clemson Athletics

The kids we are recruiting were toddlers or younger the last time UT was at all relevant. The worst argument about our recruiting is when people talk about how we sucked for 15 years we shouldn't expect to recruit at a high level. You know darn well you sailed by my point because it hit you square between the eyes.We were relevant last year, bro. Try to keep up. Time takes time, but don't exaggerate.
It really was a long timeYou know darn well you sailed by my point because it hit you square between the eyes.
Most kids who are 16-17 years old don’t know UT is the 9th most winning program in history. They know this team old people mention used to be good had a hot year and it’s caught their attention. So they’re visiting. We are back on the radar and they’re watching.
Stop acting like 16-17 year old kids view UT like us older people do. They don’t. They’re just barely starting to wake up to a sleeping giant. It would be different if the time gap since our greatness was 4-5 years.
Agree. And as great as last year was for us fans, it’s going to take a few more just like it to convince the best recruits that UT is back and not a one hit wonder. If CJH can put together a string of seasons like last, and at least one SEC championship, the best recruits will come. The kids we are recruiting were toddlers or younger the last time UT was at all relevant.
Just saying
The “location disadvantage” is referring to close proximity to the most blue chip recruits that schools like Florida/Georgia get to enjoy. Those are all great things and are great for fans. Most are irrelevant (maybe the weather but it’s imo neither a negative or positive here) to kids here for 4 years who are locked into football. The football stadium is riverfront, downtown Knoxville has been completely renovated into a great place to eat or spend a weekend, you are minutes from the most visited national park in the country with breathtaking hikes and views, and the weather is quite seasonable. The people here are super welcoming, and living expenses are lower than most metropolitan areas. It's an easy 6-8 hour drive to the beach in several directions, and you can ski in 4-7 hours.
I'm calling BS on the location disadvantage
