True statement…but UGA has had 3 pass catchers (Pickens, McConkey, Bowers) drafted higher than any of UT’s since CJH took the reins. No way this is true so I had to check. They've only had 1 WR in their entire history to get over 1,000 yards in a season. And he only had 1,004 yards.
That is a mindblowing stat!!!

And that’s basically what it boils down to in any WR recruiting now between UT (stats and recognition/college system) and UGA (do the no name work/pro style system)
I think that’s the point though. You don’t have to have the gaudy numbers to get the NFL scout attention.Which amazes me TBH.
I just don't understand why elite WRs (and QBs for that matter) would choose UGA knowing that they are unlikely to put up the gaudy numbers that get the attention of NFL talent evaluators. That means them getting drafted highly is going to depend primarily on the physical traits.
Granted, McConkey was a legitimately great example of development by UGA. But UT can point to Tilman and Hyatt as great examples of development too.
