GaTech fired their coach today. There are about 20 rumored replacements, one of them being Cut.

Getting the Ga Tech job would be a coup for Cutcliffe.

He has four years remaining on a contract that calls for him to receive more than $4 million if Tech terminates it without cause.

Nashville radio talking heads are guessing Nutt to Ole Miss, his image may not be squeakly clean enough to suit Tech. The speculation is that the incoming Arky AD (a Pitt guy) told Mark May (a Pitt guy) last week that he would get rid of Nutt, then May broke the story and Nutt put 2+2 together. The 2 year extension offer was a mad scramble to not look like idiots for firing they guy who just beat the #1 team in the country with a bowl bound team. This is all speculation and I'm not challenging your source Beef, but one of the guys I am listening to right now is George Plaster who used to be the announcer for GaTech.

I have a gut feeling that he and Tom Osborne are going to hit it off pretty well. Given LSU's defensive recent defensive troubles, I think Pelini's star is falling a bit.

That being said, the return of the Blackshirts may demand enough priority to keep him in the mix for the Huskers.

If Nebraska hires Paul Johnson, they'll finish last in the Big XII North within two years.

I actually half agree with you... Maybe not immediately, but within 2 years definitely.

Houston Nutt isn't that bad of a coach... He just never got Arkansas where they wanted to be.
