Galaxy S5

I'm about to move from iPhone 4s to an Android - can't wait any longer for screen real estate.

Torn between S5; Note 3 and HTC One M8

Any learning curve differences (as in moving to Android from iOS) between Samsung and HTC?

Other info - I'm not a power user; iOS did all I needed to do. I typically check mail, calendar, have a few apps I use regularly (news related) and of course text and call.

I don't browse the Internet much but that's more a function of screen size.

I don't really care about all the customization/tweaking you can do to Android phones at this point.

Would wait on the iPhone 6 but hear it will be a 4.7 inch with a 5.5 possibly coming later. If the 5.5 was coming soon I'd probably wait.

Final thoughts - I'm due an upgrade and my the salvage value of my existing phone will cover the purchase so it's no cost other than the new commitment.

If you're truly looking for a 5.5" phone, just grab the Note 3. The embedded stylus is boss.

That was my initial thought - then I saw the S5 is almost as big and cheaper. Note is $179 at Costco; S5 is $99.

Either way the 4.7 iPhone just isn't going to be big enough and from what I've seen I prefer the squarer as opposed to taller form factors.

Note 3 is easily pocket-able, the difference in screen size is that 5" screens are still navigable with one hand, the Note 3 is not. Gotta have two hands on it.

$179 is a good price for it, the previous notes didn't really drop below about $150, and that was only when we were clearing inventory for the subsequent model. Good time to buy it, though, since the Note is typically about 9 months ahead of the game when it comes out anyway.

Want one so bad but verizon has me by the balls with my grandfathered unlimited plan.

I split 12gb with my 18 year old daughter and we never reach that 12gb. I am a data hog as well, so I have never really missed the unlimited data plan.

I clocked 16gb last month. No wifi at work and I stream various news shows throughout the day. I've had an upgrade since 2012 and haven't been able to use it.

Yep I thought she was joking when they told me. Needless to say I've been streaming less

Tmobile told me last month that I'm using an average of 13gb a month. My phone is basically glued to my hands. Luckily Tmo has fully unlimited with no throttling. Two lines, both fully unlimited and iPhone 5c's...$140 a month. It rules.

If you have a family plan and one of the lines doesn't have unlimited data, go to Costco to get your phone. They can keep it

Huh? I can use my parents upgrade in November, just didn't want to wait that long. I have an iphone 5.
