I personally believe that this UT team has too much talent to not show up and take care of business this upcoming Saturday. You gotta give Arkansas credit for being the better squad in the last matchup but this team is capable of playing much better than they did in Fayetteville. My hope is that UT moves on from the egg we laid against the razorbacks and come ready to play in Neyland. It is going to be a raucous atmosphere for sure. GBO.

How we feeling?

I think our players will be in a rage to redeem themselves and the stadium will be calling for blood.

It will be close. I don't care if we win by one, just win. It's ALWAYS a struggle against them even when we've won the few times that we have. Oddsmakers say UT by 15.5 I think? Can't recall the last time we were favored by that much against them.

I have been there and will be there Saturday. But many in the stadium do not get loud, many around me just sit or stand and watch. I beg them to holler, doesn't help

Bad memories of playing Florida etched in my memory bank. The closest I've ever thought players were taking a dive to lose a game was a Fl/Tn game we were leading in the last few minutes and Florida drives down, pass is thrown and the Vols defender doesn't even attempt to tackle him or knock the ball down. Yes, they go on to score and win. Even when they have a bad team, bad coach, bad qb like last year, they seem to get good the weekend they play us. I have faith this year we begin our dominance

If we don't change up the offense and I mean get aggressive with playcalling we're not winning many more games
You know something I keep reading in these threads is a line goes something like this" JH doesn't trust Nico"..... " our offense is limited because JH doesn't trust Nico". Last year we heard the same thing only replace Nico with Milton, which leads to ask= what the hell is practice for all week ? Isn't that a time when the qb and receivers get on the same page and work on timing/routes ? How long before we can expect more offensively plays besides running up the middle ? Did Hooker spoil us ?

I think we vastly under appreciated Hooker. The offense looked much like it has these past 2 years until Hendon was inserted.
its looking like hooker was just an outlier and generational type QB for tennessee that we lucked into.

its becoming clear that heupel isnt very good at evaluating and/or developing QB talent

Obviously, the OT situation severely limits what we can do offensively. It's also why our RB's and TE's aren't involved in the passing game as much. They're needed for protection. Frankly, I don't think we see the Heupel offense as we expected again this season. I think we will see the OU offense the rest of the way. We might work on it with UTEP and maybe MSU if we can get a big enough lead, but it's clear we can't be that fast paced Heupel offense this year. Depending on the recruiting development and portal success, we might not see it next year either. Might be best to just try to play conventional ball and depend on special teams and defense.

I kind of disagree. I think the fast-pace, quick throws are what get around the deficiencies and that is what we did in 2021 and 2022 and why we did it. You go so fast the blitzers aren't able to get to the QB yet. Even if your line blows it. A quick TE roll out is perfect if they are blitzing because no on is there on the TE (fake blocker). Teams do that all the time (including to us).

Moving fast also prevents the false starts because the line doesn't even have time to jitter.

Everything you just stated is actually the perfect remedy to the offensive line problem.
