You know something I keep reading in these threads is a line goes something like this" JH doesn't trust Nico"..... " our offense is limited because JH doesn't trust Nico". Last year we heard the same thing only replace Nico with Milton, which leads to ask= what the hell is practice for all week ? Isn't that a time when the qb and receivers get on the same page and work on timing/routes ? How long before we can expect more offensively plays besides running up the middle ? Did Hooker spoil us ?If we don't change up the offense and I mean get aggressive with playcalling we're not winning many more games
its looking like hooker was just an outlier and generational type QB for tennessee that we lucked into.I think we vastly under appreciated Hooker. The offense looked much like it has these past 2 years until Hendon was inserted.
Obviously, the OT situation severely limits what we can do offensively. It's also why our RB's and TE's aren't involved in the passing game as much. They're needed for protection. Frankly, I don't think we see the Heupel offense as we expected again this season. I think we will see the OU offense the rest of the way. We might work on it with UTEP and maybe MSU if we can get a big enough lead, but it's clear we can't be that fast paced Heupel offense this year. Depending on the recruiting development and portal success, we might not see it next year either. Might be best to just try to play conventional ball and depend on special teams and defense. If we don't change up the offense and I mean get aggressive with playcalling we're not winning many more games
