There were the famous player on player incidents during that period, but also parent on parent, and players against the coach and system. Felt to me like all control was lost.

Obviously I'd rather the players hate each other and play well together than the opposite, but I'm hardcore lol.
Parents are way too involved regardless. I think Horston's mom was probably not helping matters with her Twitter activity.

Ironically, it seems that Anastasia Hayes has been Model Citizen at MSST. Go figure.

Haven’t read the last 3 pages of this thread yet, so excuse me if I’m repeating someone.

One year ago today, we beat Texas in an overtime game. Tamari Key played 40 minutes, scored 10 points, had 10 blocks, and got 18 rebounds.

Against Virginia Tech last year on December 5th, Tamari scored 11 points, had 5 blocks, and 12 rebounds.

For all of last year, 34 games, Tamari averaged 10.47 points, 3.5 blocks, and 8.1 rebounds.

So far this year, Tamari is averaging 8.6 points, 2.2 blocks, and 4.2 rebounds.

We have seen what Tamari can do, she should be even better this year. We especially need her to rebound the way she did last year. If she’s just been warming up for this year, this game would be a good game to start playing the way we know she can. GO TK!

Tennessee will really, really need her to be her best against VT. Kitley had probably the worst game of her career against Tamari, and she's one of the best centers in the country. Tamari will need to put on a repeat performance if they want to win that game.

Some good thought out level headed responses today Creekdipper, especially #'s 35-47. That is way you respond to posters with whom you may disagree with, not with challenging their intelligence. Good job.

Well, thanks. There's a lot of room for a lot of diverse opinions on this board. I think most of us enjoy reading other ideas even when we don't agree. It's just the constantly nasty (as opposed to negative) posters that get tiresome quickly.

Re: the term "losing the locker room"...I always took that to mean when players have lost confidence and faith in the coaching staff more than player in-fighting.

UCLA has hit 2 of 11 from three against Marquette thus far a far different total from yesterday against Tennessee.

UCLA 3's and Rattler TD's. Perfect storm for ruining some pre-Thanksgiving weekends. Early Black Friday deals for SC and UCLA.

So there's a major revolt among the LV players? Does your inside info on player attitude include when and why the team made the decision to punk KJH, make a mockery of their potential, and probably throw away any chance for their future in the WNBA? Because "refusal" indicates a conscious decision by all of them to dog it. No team member declined to go along, nor decided to reveal the evil plot?

Like 99% of the conspriacy theories going around today, this defies all logic. Even if a player cares nothing for their school or team, they do not want to look bad on national TV. But please, explain to me how this stubborn refusal and the resulting losses and humiliation comes about?

Also like 99% of conspriacy theory, this is really a simplistic and silly explanation for what's going on. I think the reverse is true; this team is begging for direction and would do anything to turn it around. The coaching staff needs to overhaul their entire approach to teaching and preparing these players. A good start would be to implement an actual offense, but that seems to be beyond everyone who touches the LV program.

On other side, it is perhaps too see this specific teams struggles in the pre-season as a continuation of some grand historical failing. There is a very real chance that this group has not quite gelled. At this level, the line between success and failure is quite fine. In the NBA, last season, the Boston Celtics were a laughing stock in the 1st half of the season and pundits were talking were talking about the need to blow it all up and start over because the team's key players just did not fit together. Then they finished on a massive second half run and made it to the NBA finals, were after 4 games, they were even expected to win (But the warriors had Steph Curry...).

The wheels could fall off or this train could really get rolling. TIme will tell,

If our defense is, once again, unable to defend against the outside shot, we may lose this game. Forget about running off a missed shot and instead track the ball. We should have one or two players in position for the long rebound instead of everyone running to the paint when the ball leaves the shooters hand.

I think the blueprint has been shown on how to beat us. We don't defend the 3-ball well, Tamari is getting mugged and taken out of the game so our inside game is somewhat compromised because of it and we are not rebounding well.
Rick, UT cannot let a smaller Gonzag team outrebound them today. It's practically a call to arms after letting the smaller UCLA and Indiana win the boards. You would hope the LV's today gather around 50+ rebounds to make a statement. They remember how to box out and give max effort.

Time for the D to stand tall also, 4 starters from last year plus Jackson should not be a drop off in defense since Rae was never 100% physically. No reason not to bring intensity and focus to every game on defense and rebounding.

The offense will be just fine if those two things are accomplished. Like someone said above, dominate the boards and playing aggressive defense should give UT about 10+ more shots a game than their competitor. Game over.

We should not be ranked at all . 2-3 is not a top 25 team right now. I think we got caught up in the hype from the media being preseason #4 and #1 seed in tourney based off talent on paper. This season is the first season the spotlight is on Kellies coaching and its showing.

So Texas at 1-3 should not be ranked?

She is not likely to play in the WNBA. She lacks the toughness needed IMO.
Key will definitely be drafted. She is taller than the 6’6” listed height, by around 2” I believe. Not many players with that kind of size. Her PT will depend on finding the next gear though.
