Game thread: #11 Lady Vols host Georgia. Sunday, March 2, Noon ET, SECN

Some of these players like Sara were given up on by CKC early in the year. I don’t think she has ANY relationship with some of these girls and it shows. I wouldn’t want to be there either if I were them. If CKC didn’t want them, she should have told them so they could have moved on and thrived in a different environment. Tess and Sara are the only 2 seniors who have used all their eligibility as Lady Vols and didn’t even get the start today. Kind of shows a lot about the coaches character to me.
You may be on to something. While I can't place a finger on it, it does seem as if the team and the coach are drifting apart. CKC seems to me to be a perfectionist and very demanding. Has this taken a toll on the players? Has CKC taken any responsibility for any of our poor play? I realize the coach doesn't actually play a minute ... but ... many successful coaches often take some responsibility for their team's poor play thereby taking some pressure off their players. Has CKC ever done this? Coach Kim has been extremely successful at every stop in her coaching career and maybe now that she is being somewhat humbled she may be putting too much pressure on her team and alienating them. That's my 2 cents ... 😁.

To be honest the only one any good in this system is Spear and sometimes Spencer. Darby has played well in moments this season still not a system she should be playing in. Puckett would have been better off transferring she is just not going to thrive in a run up and down the court system. System not for Jill either. Actually it is effective for the five freshmen coming in. She will have to win with them and the players left plus portal or I am sure concerns will set in.
Jill disagrees, the announcers said that she said , she loved the system. Again, people speaking about shat they know NOTHING ABOUT.

Puckett missed too many shots today and is a liability on defense. Not only too slow but was out of position on d as well.
You have to be able to move your feet on defense………

All that's not worth the 2 cents you speak of.

Get off your high horse with the bashing of CKC. You don't the relationship she has with any player, yet you sit here and bash her. She's our coach embrace her or go cheer for someone else . She needs to get in all of their A$$ about Effort. It's been lacking the last 2 games .
Maybe I do know the relationship she has 🤔

She may like it was not what I meant her play has not been very good in the system that was the point. You look at her numbers and the effect on the team winning has been minimal. Same for Puckett. Darby has been some help and has played well enough to be in a rotation. The biggest problem has been the disappearing act of Spencer and Whitehorn coupled with the others the team can't score effectively to win games.

I feel like the team just seems drained. Intellectually, emotionally and physically running on empty.
IMO there has not been a team in the SEC who has had to absorb bigger upheavals than the LVs this year.
I hope when we see CKCs after game presser she does not repeat the “who wanted it more” etc. speech. To me, everyone including the staff, needs to touch some grass, take a quick mental vacation and prepare for the “new”season. Further hammering the team at this point would be counterproductive.
I was thinking the very same thing on the drive home. Time for Kim to make an adjustment to how she is handling this group of women who are obviously running on fumes. They are looking how I'm feeling these days, and that's definitely a sign they need a break.

Kim needs to also add more options to the offense. It's on her that we're an easy scout.

Both played 13 and 14 mins respectively and they combined for 3 points. When does being a senior make you a starter for SR day, if that’s not your role? Nice gesture, sure. A given, no.

Jill's play has improved all year. She's played so of the best ball of her career lately. The one thing this team needs to learn is risk vs. reward when passing or driving. An old coach always told us, keep it simple stupid. Meaning just make the easy pass, don't try to do to much. Let the game come to you.

Wasn't thrilled by who coach Kim started today neither.
Most know I'm one of Tess biggest supporter on here.
She played the give the starter's a quick rest.
Hasn't been giving many good looks by the offense.

Besides Ace - Cooper - Tennessee redshirt freshman point guard so most of next year players will be Kims

Kim going to have to sink or swim with her own players.
Mostly her players.

I'm still in give Kim time camp because she didn't fire Kellie.
Not sure Kim ceiling but don't think you could make a move before she gets four or five years here.

Kim a new division 1 coach who needs aleast as much time as Tennessee has giving past football coaches.
Four or five years to put their own stamp on the program.
Baring getting worse every year in the first second third years.

Whitehorn has exited the building. Spencer can't take care of the ball. If she'd keep her dribble like ZZ does, she could make plays.

True and she cared about the players.
As a coach you coach and demand at practice and games. Off the court is were you show your kids you care about their personal lives and why you want them to succeed in life. When players allow themselves to be pushed to be the best they can achieve then success in game of life is much easier.

Yes, that just drained part may be a bit of projection on my part as well.🫤

Today it was Jill, Tess, and Sarah 39 minutes played 5 points on 2 of 11 shooting. Whitehorn another 12 disasterous minutes and 0 points. Spencer made 4 of 14 today so five players played half the minutes of a game and we get 16 points. Going to be better next season we have some scorers coming.

And they’re not really a good matchup for us. I know they’re without Aicha C, but they have size. Lauren Ware gave us some problems back in Jan.
Well it is them and then a win Vandy and if we win Sc and if we win Kentucky or Oklahoma more than likely and if we win Texas or LSU more than likely for the title. We got it no problem. Winning those first two might get us back at home wondering if that is a help or a hindrance.
