I know some posters have wondered how losing Green could have such a negative effect. Some have asked if it's psychological. Others have wondered why 7 points and 3 rebounds over 14 minutes can't be easily made up.
In my opinion, Green's loss was a double gut punch. She is the oldest team member. In my observations of her (granted from a far) she is very calm, collected and mature. Her voice as a player on the floor (when the other team is making a run) is clearly missed
She lost all of last year minus 4 games due to injury and now losing another year is maddening. That in it's self is frustrating to LV fans as well as players.
Green's production of 7 points and 3 rebounds are her average for the year. In the last few SEC games, those numbers do not tell the whole story. When Key played her self into foul trouble or fatigue and needed a break, Green came into the game on a mission. How many times did she get a put back and an-one at a critical juncture in the game. Her presence always stopped an opposing teams run or started one for the LVs.
LVs must play better, especially Burrell and Key. Keyen Green's efforts before injury (for two years) deserve it.
