No problem just tells me what does this mean. This shows womens basketball says sc spent over 9 million and made a little over 4 million. Why would this be posted. These are the actual numbers of cost and revenue of all the top womens teams. Tennessee spent 7 million plus made 2.6 million back for a 4.4 million loss.At their very worse time financially under DS I think they lost close to $3m, which at the time was kinda par for the course for aggressive programs.
You’re assuming that the more you pay a Coach, the better they will be, and that’s just not true. How much did the football program pay to each of their new Coaches? Just because you spend more money on a new Coach does not mean they will beat SC and LSU, or even compete as well as we already do.They decided that 8 million is not to much to have a winning womens basketball team same thing applies to Sc who loses that as well. Tennessee loses three or four million less, but who really is getting the better benefit for their money? Most of their losses is on coaches salaries and where we lose less. If we want to hire a highly regarded coach ours will shoot up as well to about the same amount of money loss. So the decisions is do you want to save four million and stay where we are or spend it and be in competition with them. That is the question that should get answered at seasons end.
Not assuming anything just seems to work out that way. The highest paid coaches are Dawn, Vic, Geno, Mulkey and Tara and they are the big salary coaches. Sure some low paid coaches are doing ok as well. The point was usually to get a good coach you have to pay a high amount. Otherwise you just got lucky. You’re assuming that the more you pay a Coach, the better they will be, and that’s just not true. How much did the football program pay to each of their new Coaches? Losing your best player/players does effect your games. We’ve lost our best player for either the season, or a significant amount of time during every season since Kellie has been Coach. Stanford loses without Brink, USC loses without Betts. We lost Rickea for I believe 8 games. We lost Wells for the season. Tamari has been recovering during this season. It all makes a difference in how many games you win.
the actual quote is no better to say your team play well at times as a plea to actually make it into the tournament is freaking ridiculous. We haven’t played a complete game this whole freaking year and we certainly don’t pass the “eye test”.Since that is not what she said, you should not have put quotes around it. She would never say what you wrote.

This was last year. Don't know how that article got you spent the same as you made but this is the actual numbers as reported to the NCAA.Not sure what year your post was about, but the past year SC WBB revenue was $9.5m. That was likely from a year where I stated above lost around 3-4m like most schools.
Those Coaches are going nowhere. KM is the highest paid Coach in that group, and DS’s team beats Geno’s and Kim’s teams. Don’t forget, our own Coach Kellie has won against DS, Vic, and Kim, not many Coaches can say that. Not assuming anything just seems to work out that way. Plus Rickea is here now were still not good enough to beat SC or LSU. I think we want to be able to beat them and so the question is will Kellie ever get the roster that can do that? I am all for her staying if she can in five seasons she hasn't done it so needs to do it soon.
The University posted the numbers from their AD, and this past year SC WBB had revenues of over $9m. Even take the numbers you post, no problem, show me an $8m loss. And tbh, whatever the numbers, UT is not far removed even in that scenario, so throwing rocks at SC seems silly, especially since they are almost doubling the revenue in the scenario you painted. This was last year. Don't know how that article got you spent the same as you made but this is the actual numbers as reported to the NCAA.
Again, not true. Dawn is the third highest paid coach behind Geno and Mulkey btw. Which I have no problem with. Those Coaches are going nowhere. DS is by far the highest paid Coach in that group, and her team beats Geno’s and Kim’s teams. Don’t forget, our own Coach Kellie has won against DS and Kim, not many Coaches can say that.
I know they are not, but sorry you usually give a coach five seasons to recruit and get the job done or you give someone else a try. I don't know what were going to do and I am fine either way if she gets fired or is given another season. The point being how she going to do better next season? She has not been able to recruit well enough. She hasn't been able to win enough 12 and 37 against top ten teams. It all gets old after a while if you were used to the great history Tennessee had in women's basketball. Some may be happy with double digit losses every season as long as we win close to twenty. I am hoping for better so we'll see if DW thinks she can do it or if someone else will be coaching next season. I can accept either answer, but she sure has to deliver if she is brought back much more than she has to this point. This I am sure of as it will be her do or die year if she is allowed to continue. I don't know what he will have to pay or will pay or who he even has in mind if anybody. I'm just not going to be one to make excuses for her anymore even if I still support her and would if she gets to return. Those Coaches are going nowhere. DS is by far the highest paid Coach in that group, and her team beats Geno’s and Kim’s teams. Don’t forget, our own Coach Kellie has won against DS and Kim, not many Coaches can say that.
Three of the coaches mentioned, Mulkey, Staley and Vic will be in the conference next season. Something to ponder because all three are pretty solid at bringing in talent and coaching them to wins. It doesn’t get easier next year. SEC WBB is getting ready to go up a notch next season in competition. It’s gonna be like SEC FB soon for SEC WBB, the stakes are being raised big time and I expect the SEC to be the dominant WBB conference in 2025 and going forward, the B1G may have something to say about it with UCLA and USC coming on board though. Will be fun to watch the competition between those two conferences, again, just like in FB, the two big dogs.I know they are not, but sorry you usually give a coach five seasons to recruit and get the job done or you give someone else a try. I really wasn't throwing rocks someone mentioned LSU lost 8 million I said I thought I saw the same for SC. Actually LSU lost 6.6 million and we lost 5.6 million. So for another million I'd rather be them right now. As the numbers show all women's programs lose big money. UConn spent 8.9 million returned 3.7 or something like that so 5 to 6 million seems to be the number for most programs womens basketball teams. Just a fact for all not rock throwing just a misquote as was the number reported that LSU lost. The University posted the numbers from their AD, and this past year SC WBB had revenues of over $9m. It’s like folks just saying yeah they are good right now, but it costs them $8m a year to do that. Not true. And it neglects to point out what those folks own school is paying for their results, which is often not a good return on investment, you get it.
Agree, peace 2012.I really wasn't throwing rocks someone mentioned LSU lost 8 million I said I thought I saw the same for SC. Actually LSU lost 6.6 million and we lost 5.6 million. Hopefully he lets her go but if he lets her stay I would make sure she fired all assistant coaches and tell most of players to transfers and no less than final 4 is exceptedI know they are not, but sorry you usually give a coach five seasons to recruit and get the job done or you give someone else a try. It is what the AD wants to do we live by his decisions. He didn't hire our present coach so don't know what he will decide to do. Some say he really is great at hiring coaches so we'll see if he has anyone in mind or if he stays the course. Paying someone another million over the million she makes sure isn't going to break the University. Is there anyone out there maybe. I like McGuff, Gottlieb, and a few others. They will need a lot more than were paying now. I'm not to sold on Molly Miller who seems to be the huge choice of so many. She has done great at Grand Canyon 350 and 49 or something like that, but SEC is not that league you need a recruiter and a person that is good in situations during a game.Three of the coaches mentioned, Mulkey, Staley and Vic will be in the conference next season. Something to ponder because all three are pretty solid at bringing in talent and coaching them to wins. It doesn’t get easier next year. Final four? Hell, with Texas and OK coming in next year any team that makes top 4 in the SEC will be doing well. I think the SEC will start cleaning up in recruiting, esp with the portal.Hopefully he lets her go but if he lets her stay I would make sure she fired all assistant coaches and tell most of players to transfers and no less than final 4 is excepted
You know we'll find out soon. If it is going to happen it will happen right after the last game we play at least within a week. If not then she is staying and we can either accept that or just move away from the program for a while.Hopefully he lets her go but if he lets her stay I would make sure she fired all assistant coaches and tell most of players to transfers and no less than final 4 is excepted
Almost exactly what I posted .NCAA had rules that you could not discuss NIL deals with high school athletes. The state of Tennessee attorney general along with the attorney general of Virginia took the NCAA to court. The Judge ruled that the NCAA rules on NIL were unlawful and so now there are no rules and the University of Tennessee and any other college in Tennessee of Virginia can freely talk about NIL deals with high school athletes. This became lawful last Friday and will remain so until they again go to court where in court would have to totally reverse itself to reinstate the NCAA rules. I don't see that happening so until then no NCAA rules are valid and Tennessee can make NIL deals legally with high school and portal transfers. Whether this helps Lady Vol basketball remains to be seen. There was a lot of talk about a lot of other schools making deals regardless of NCAA rules before while Tennessee under those rules could not or would not because it was illegal. That is no longer true and if there was cheating going on the playing field has now been leveled for at least the next several months.
Or Ole Miss, Alabama, TAMU and FSU. They only lost 4 games without Rickea, and three of them were to better teams than the ones they lost to at full strength (OSU, Indiana and ND). It’s not like she came back and all of a sudden they were a top 20 team again. They were vulnerable with her at the beginning of the season, without her, and even now that she’s back. This is something that the seeding committee will surely take into consideration and lessen any benefit of a doubt they extend to Tennessee due to her absence.Plus Rickea is here now we’re still not good enough to beat SC or LSU. I think we want to be able to beat them and so the question is will Kellie ever get the roster that can do that? If she stays, and I'm pretty sure she will, I'd love a really strong commitment to getting the NIL mess straightened out. Of course that's in limbo now with no rules now but reorganization on the horizon. Best case for the LVs is somehow Title IX gets tied in to NIL and folks get forced to share funds LOL. I do realize as of now the schools themselves can't organize it but could they maybe oversee and guide the fundraising efforts a bit?You know we'll find out soon. If it is going to happen it will happen right after the last game we play at least within a week. If not then she is staying and we can either accept that or just move away from the program for a while.
Probably doesn't make much seeding difference, but the flip side of that is where would we have been without Rickea? At the bottom of the SEC and definitely out of the tourney I'm thinking. She's definitely been up and down since she's been back, had some great games, had a couple of the worst of her career. Her shot has been off most of the season, getting good shots just not falling. Would be nice to see her turn that around, there's still time.Or Ole Miss, Alabama, TAMU and FSU.
