I enjoyed this exhibition game. We have to realize that it was going to be a little sloppy. We need to work on free throws and bunnies. We missed too many shots under the basket. Dye, Burrell, and Green looked good. They have a few things to clean up, so I will refrain from getting too negative.
South Carolina played a division 3 with like 20 All-Americans and scored only 98 points can’t relate Go Lady VolsThis is a start. Now they got some film to work with and can start to work on areas to improve in. We just beat a division 2 school by 60 points and broke 100 points playing the bench players a majority of the game. Neither South Carolina nor Mississippi State broke 100 points last night and South Carolina was playing a division 3 school. The season is young.
I think Tess is gonna get a nice amount of minutes in her role. She is a smart player, has a nice quick release from well beyond the 3 point line and her foot speed and defense have improved. It would be great if she can hit that 3 consistently to help open up the interior a little bit more. That happens and our post players could also have a field day.Nice drive Tess. She’s playing with more confidence than last year.
3 pt was equivalent of shooting over 60% from two so it was an effective addition for us tonight.
That is a place where we would fall behind last year. Gotta get the post game clicking though. We got 6 pts from our center, and 6 from our big forward. Not much posting up and feeding the ball in was happening tonight. Which is OK given the nature of some games. But given the height differential we should have feasted down low in this particular game.
Keyen reminding us tonight why Kellie wanted her in the first place. She is so tough. Walker never gets enough love. I’ve been saying it since last year, she is a dog!!
Not sure why most of you all were expecting an all American type of jump for Key. She’s too lackadaisical to ever be an elite type of player. She will be good for us, but don’t ever see her being great.
