Game Thread: (4/5) Lady Vols 61 - Auburn 71

How do you improve the coach?

A better question: How do you improve the fans?

So tell me, what coach has not had games where players had a bad night and his/her team got upset? Name one. Kellie got this team to 18-1 playing without their AA candidate, and the intended focal point of the offense for most of that stretch. Against Auburn, this team had just lost another key player in Green and the anchor of their defense was saddled with foul trouble. Rae was having her worst game since coming back and the team looked flat and emotionally drained,. And they still made a run in the 3rd quarter but could not sustain it. I know, if Kellie had only taken a timeout in the first quarter, the team would have been completely re-energized, Auburn would have collapsed, Green's knee would have miraculously recovered, and the officials would have gotten together and reversed the fouls calls on Tamari. Cause TOs are magic things. What a terrible coach we have to not use them.

This game will prove to be an anomaly in terms of the lack of defensive cohesion and getting beat on hustle plays.

If they were ever really fans is the question. Not just here about a third of the posters want to fire Barnes over on the Vol forum.

this is not unique to TN...watch the pressers of other College BB pressers or even professional sports and it is pretty much the same,,,non-instigating questions

Unlike their non-sports peers who cover hard news and public officials, sports journalists assigned to the home team need access to players, coaches and staff. And it's very easy for sports administrators and coaches to punish them for what they consider unfair or derogatory coverage by cutting them off at the knees, damaging their careers and sometimes costing them their jobs.

I don’t know how they could develop Emily. She just appears to be out of her league. She doesn’t have SEC level talent. They did recruit Keyen out of the portal to back up Tamari, who would have guessed she would have torn her ACL two years in a row.
In regards to Emily,, hate to admit it but you
are probably right.

And twice she runs down the court to get set up for her offense position and runs over a munchkin that she is not paying any attention to? 🤷‍♂️
I agree. her teammates need to help her out with this. She will learn to look for it. This is what took her out of the game with her second fouls the last two games. The other teams will look at the film of the games and will keep trying this. It's sad this is a foul. As always go Lady Vols.
