Now that I’ve vented and settled down, gotta give the Lady Vols a whole lot of credit for a very good season and taking the #1 team in America to within a lucky prayer of a shot or a winning free throw. So much they accomplished with a lot of criticism and angst. Pick yourselves up and practice more before hitting the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tourney. Win the big one and we will forget this game. SC has lost three games while winning over 100 last few years.

Somebody needed to be at least 3 feet from her to put some kind of pressure on the situation. It would’ve been an easier loss to take if it was even somewhat contested.

Geez....why would she even have to lie. She could have just said..."Yea, Raven just threw it to Cardosa even though I drew up a different play.....why would she lie and why would they not run the play you know she drew up. This forum has been the only place I could follow the Lady Vols, since Rocky Top Talk doesn’t. But, I’ve been coming here less and less, due to the unbelievable ugliness toward the players and coaches. Calling HCKH a “bitch”? That’s now acceptable here?

Nope. That was removed almost immediately. They lurk . They stayed under their rocks following the win against Kentucky and the strong victory over Alabama. And would have been absent had the team pulled off the victory today. Some are nothing but vitriolic haters, some are Holly only, some hate is seated with Fulmer. But this season is far from over. I would every single time. Wya better to have your players organized and set in that situation. Time and score are in your favor. As long as you execute there it really doesn’t matter what they draw up. We didn’t execute.

And I can guarantee if they score, many posters on here will complain —“ why call a timeout and let them draw up a play”. Thats why I say time will tell what was the fight call.

But I like my chances if a player who hadn’t made a 3 all year takes the shot.

Exactly...every coach would gaurd that pass...the tougher it is to make the inbound pass [with a foul to give as well] the harder it is to get in a good pass for a wide open shot...

I believe the phrase is”I’d let her take that shot all day.” Can you imagine if we had covered Cardoso who throws it to a three point shooter who hits the winning shot. Every post would be why were we guarding Cardoso!

Yep, no professional gambler would have put any money on that going in. I bet you could let het shoot it 10 times in practice and she never make it. Just pure luck and everybody knows it but still counts. Just wish we'd hit the FTs and it would be a afterthought.

I think the entire team and assistants would back up Staley regardless of what she said.
