Game Thread: (7/7) Lady Vols 56 - (10/9) Connecticut 75

I'm glad to see others had the same first thought I did about the LVs current need for Zaay. Actually, it's not a bad idea at this point . .

The thing that astounds me about Rae is that she stubbornly keeps doing the same thing painful outcome after painful outcome.

Yeah. I think she is instinctively trying to do what has always been successful for her. That instinct is a tough thing to overcome. Right now she seems to be dragging her leg and is neither as quick or able to jump like when she totally well. She is not able to do what her mind is telling she can do. It's a tough situation. I imagine she's filled with fear that her dreams of a BB career are not going to be fulfilled. I can only imagine what she is going through.

I wouldn't get too excited. She also said after the Auburn loss that future opponents were in trouble because that wouldn't happen again...
You can take all the shots at her that you want but that kid has heart. Folks were concerned about her transferring or leaving, I was sharing what I know about her.

Darth can be glad I am not the moderator here,,,his a$$ would be gone
I can't understand why VN lets "absolute trolls" play here

Actually I like having Darth on here. Is he predictable over the top sometimes, yes. He alone balances out all the sunshine pumpers. Otherwise all the posts would be about how great and all conference or AA all our recruits are. If a player doesn’t meet expectations then all the post would be saying they must be having lingering effects from a sprain from several months ago, etc..
I tend to be optimistic and think overall the team has done well so far this year and I think they are very capable of doing well come tourney time but I realize they have some issues (mostly team play and to much one on one-throwing shots up, etc.) they need to work on.

She does this in memory of her brother who was a big Laker fan.

Thanks NO for pointing that out. I was unaware of her brother’s influence on her until now - he taught her a lot about basketball both on and off the court.

I did a bit of checking and she apparently does this to honor both men.

Its entirely possible we meet them again this season, and we won’t be playing in Connecticut, and maybe the circumstances will be more even, and we’ll play our best, then anything can happen. GO LADY VOLS!!!

I was going to write this the other day, but didn't want to interject any more negativity at that time. However, my opinion at the time I read this post was (and now Charlie Creme agrees) that IF they were to meet again, it would PROBABLY be in Bridgeport - which happens to be in - Connecticut. I personally think a lot is going to change in the next four weeks BUT in the current bracketology they are the #2 & #3 seeds in Bridgeport.

Her mom and Tamari’s mom are very anti-transfer. She’s close with Kellie as well. I would be SHOCKED if she left.

Thanks for sharing that tweet. Love to see it.

Kellie has mentioned she recruits parents as much as anything these days. Could be why we are a little slow to pull the trigger. She seems very interested in a lot of factors not just basketball.

There are 26 books out there re: Jack Reacher. Pick another one up and you will be hooked.

I've read them all. Plus, I remember the interview (a couple years ago, I think) with the author, when he was asked about casting Cruise as Reacher. He responded diplomatically, but hinted at what was to come.

I will thanks for the suggestion. I usually don’t like to get invested with first year shows, because they’ve started canceling shows left and right after the 1st and 2nd season.

Don’t mean to hijack the thread.
A show you might really like on Prime Video-TV is a completed series called ”The Americans”. There are about 5 different shows called that but this one is about 2 Russian Spies. Backstory is a man and woman complete spy training in Russia. They are told to marry, move to Washington DC, take American identities, and have 2 children. Every once in a while a contact gives them an assignment. Their daughter is 15 when a FBI agent and his family move in next door and they have a 16 year old son. This is where the story starts. During the series I wasn’t sure if I was for the spies or the FBI or how it would end. It takes place during the Cold War And it is very much cat and mouse. If you are looking for a good completed series, you might give it a try.

Fox is reporting that 700,000 watched the game. That is the best ever on Fox for a WCBB game. No matter your feelings about the teams involved, that much exposure is great for WCBB and proof that renewing the "rivalry" is a good thing.
Oh yeah, good for you and Fox this year. 🤮

You're in a party of about 5-6

there are indeed sunshine pumpers,,,they are composed of : doctors, lawyers, managers, coaches, electricians, cooks, theme park employees, clergy,,,,,,,,and they talk about many things on this site. we talk about offense, defense, substitutions, old movies, recruiting, "each and every game"...we cover a lot of ground on here.

This team will find its spark and it will figure out what happened and what needs to happen, very quickly. Kellie is a smart Coach. And she empowers and trusts the people around her,,,they'll figure out what was, what is and how to get back to what was...real soon. . . . In fact, I am bankking on it,,,I'm going to Thursday's game ;o)

i want nothing but success for this program. and i may go over board with my observations. but lets be honest post on here are like a text message. it doesnt always mean what you type. i talk about what i see and my observation of what i see. i dont claim to be a coach but god forbid you post something and get slammed because of all these couch jockeys just want to flame away. the girls have made a lot of mistakes here lately in their play that has cost them some games. but if you talk about it then that means your not a true fan or you hate the team. its kind of frustrating trying to have a conversation with these posters that suck you in to high school bullying conversations. i trust Kellie to figure this out but at the same time i am going to post what i feel is my opinion. some of these posters just cant handle seeing honesty.

I think there is a difference in offering one's critiques and personal attacks. Not saying you are one of those people but you and i BOTH know we have seen those types of posts on here.
