Game Thread: (7/7) Lady Vols 56 - (10/9) Connecticut 75

Actually I like having Darth on here. Is he predictable over the top sometimes, yes. He alone balances out all the sunshine pumpers. Otherwise all the posts would be about how great and all conference or AA all our recruits are. If a player doesn’t meet expectations then all the post would be saying they must be having lingering effects from a sprain from several months ago, etc..
I tend to be optimistic and think overall the team has done well so far this year and I think they are very capable of doing well come tourney time but I realize they have some issues (mostly team play and to much one on one-throwing shots up, etc.) they need to work on.

Darth does have some valid points for a Vandy fan and their words are very carefully typed to point out the obvious while making taking digs.

I actually don't mind fans of other teams coming on here to stir the pot it's fun but when personal shots are taken that's where lines have to be drawn.

I think there is a difference in offering one's critiques and personal attacks. Not saying you are one of those people but you and i BOTH know we have seen those types of posts on here.
I was critical of Darby and believe me i ate my crow on her and stated i had become a fan of hers. so i get what your saying. but i truly believe some of these people just want to argue. im not a coach but i have played and loved basketball all my life. i know good fundamentals when i see them and when i dont. and i dont think its attacking the team to question on this page why we are seeing bad fundamentals. but some of these posters act like your trying to pull scholarships because you question the way someone is playing. frustrating to say the least,

I wouldn't get too excited. She also said after the Auburn loss that future opponents were in trouble because that wouldn't happen again...

Wow, stretching a dig at Jordan to the point of incoherence. She says all in with the team and believes in them and you retort, this....? That is taking your trolling to a new low. Sad to see.

i agree! But when you start talking about eyelashes, manly features, players never going to amount to anything that might be taking it a little too far... especially by our "fans". i'm all about critique and criticism hell i get fired up and let it be known. But i believe there is a line.

Lest we not forget Ole Miss gate where we actually had a fan call the players on Ole Miss (who are predominantly black) thug b!****s and fans on here LIKED that post 🤮

So while i'm a genuinely positive person i can even see the "sunshine pumpers" but I much rather have them than the other dbag options i have seen!

While this post may make some uncomfortable and others just say wish it would be dropped i hope to hear back from you.

Thanks NO for pointing that out. I was unaware of her brother’s influence on her until now - he taught her a lot about basketball both on and off the court.

I did a bit of checking and she apparently does this to honor both men.

Here's a video of Aaliyah posted February 2019. Kobe Died January 2020.

blatantly disrespecting players is awful. remember how Britney Griner was treated. she was a hell of a player. i wish she would have been a Lady Vol. Cruelty shouldnt be tolerated

Preach! I tend to not comment as much after losses because the ugly comes out.. and it gets used against us. Remember social media is just as much a battlefield in the recruiting front and I’ve seen many posts from here be screenshot and posted and creating a narrative about Tennessee as a program and their fan base that many fans don’t want to talk about.

I'm glad to see others had the same first thought I did about the LVs current need for Zaay. Actually, it's not a bad idea at this point . .

I just want coaches and fans that, after losing a few games or having a bad slump, will scream, "We're DOOMED!!! We're pathetic! Our ball handling is trash! We're the worst offense in team, nay, all of wbb history!!!"

Give me those kind of true believers. None of these Winston Churchill we'll-fight-them-on-the-beaches types. None of these Agincourt "band of brothers" deluded fools. Give me those shoot-our-own-troops-in-the-backs-and-then-join-the-enemy supporters. After all, why back a bunch of losers when there are winners out there we can look to for immediate gratification?

We don't want coaches and fans who can't face reality and who tell the team to keep grinding and believing and fighting. Bah! Bunch of weaklings! Why look ahead to better days? We want rain, man, not sunshine! When the going gets tough, bail out. After all, it's so much harder to personally insult those inferior to our own high standards which we have easily achieved than to take the easy route and offer encouragement. True sports fans do the former, and it's been prove to get the best results in all areas of life! The wife burns the roast and the kids come up short on the ol' report card? Well...we know how to fix that! Personally berating them and telling them they'll never amount to anything and that they should consider finding a new home will get them to shape up in a hurry. Always works out great...just have to know how to handle these lazy inferiors.

Oh, and the eyelashes! The eyelashes!!! Will this assault to our senses never end? Oh! The humanity!

You're in a party of about 5-6

there are indeed sunshine pumpers,,,they are composed of : doctors, lawyers, managers, coaches, electricians, cooks, theme park employees, clergy,,,,,,,,and they talk about many things on this site. we talk about offense, defense, substitutions, old movies, recruiting, "each and every game"...we cover a lot of ground on here.

This team will find its spark and it will figure out what happened and what needs to happen, very quickly. Kellie is a smart Coach. And she empowers and trusts the people around her,,,they'll figure out what was, what is and how to get back to what was...real soon. . . . In fact, I am bankking on it,,,I'm going to Thursday's game ;o)

Quit pumping the sunshine, Man! You're harshing my buzz!!!

Don’t mean to hijack the thread.
A show you might really like on Prime Video-TV is a completed series called ”The Americans”. There are about 5 different shows called that but this one is about 2 Russian Spies. Backstory is a man and woman complete spy training in Russia. They are told to marry, move to Washington DC, take American identities, and have 2 children. Every once in a while a contact gives them an assignment. Their daughter is 15 when a FBI agent and his family move in next door and they have a 16 year old son. This is where the story starts. During the series I wasn’t sure if I was for the spies or the FBI or how it would end. It takes place during the Cold War And it is very much cat and mouse. If you are looking for a good completed series, you might give it a try.

The Americans is an excellent show. Lots of twists and suspense and a satisfying ending.

For another good "completed" show, I'd recommend Hell on Wheels. Good historical fiction (with some actual historical figures thrown in). Compelling story and characters. Some didn't like the ending, but we thought it was brilliant. Five seasons; western. If you like Deadwood or Lonesome Dove, you'll probably like this one.

Fox is reporting that 700,000 watched the game. That is the best ever on Fox for a WCBB game. No matter your feelings about the teams involved, that much exposure is great for WCBB and proof that renewing the "rivalry" is a good thing.
Yes, but you have to be competitive to keep it a rivalry... Close last year, but we need to start winning a few. Tenn. Ala. Was a rivalry at one time .

People don't believe or want to talk about that though 👀

That's what we are all wanting to see!!!!

i want nothing but success for this program. and i may go over board with my observations. but lets be honest post on here are like a text message. it doesnt always mean what you type. i talk about what i see and my observation of what i see. i dont claim to be a coach but god forbid you post something and get slammed because of all these couch jockeys just want to flame away. the girls have made a lot of mistakes here lately in their play that has cost them some games. but if you talk about it then that means your not a true fan or you hate the team. its kind of frustrating trying to have a conversation with these posters that suck you in to high school bullying conversations. i trust Kellie to figure this out but at the same time i am going to post what i feel is my opinion. some of these posters just cant handle seeing honesty.
Agreed. Pointing out something that needs improvement does not make you less a fan!! The sun doesn't shine everyday....

Agreed! But attacking players personally is never called for.

I love how passionate and knowledgeable (some) of the fanbase is. I love the critiques and assessments of the team and that's what this board is for.

I always wonder if Uconn does a right thing by 1. not allowing posters to post during the game if that's the case and 2. having what seems like a way heavier screening process than what happens here. I could see pros and cons to both. It would cut down on the drive by posters during the game when things aren't going well but also take some of the excitement for in the game action.

Who said anything about attacking players???? Deflect

I agree. The one-off, first-time hate posts are so annoying that I usually just avoid game threads during thee game for the most part and go back and add to the ever-growing ignore list afterward to weed out the incompetent.

At least they're not at the games in person (we think). Hard to imagine people paying for tickets just to gripe the whole time. Anyone who does that must book root canals just for fun.

LOL, did i say you were talking about attacking players?!? In my previous posts i was talking about (and in my response to you) i enjoy the critiques and criticisms from this fanbase. THEN i went on to say there is a difference in critiques and personal attacks and as fans we have to stay on the critique side. THAT stemmed from the post you (and I) both responded to so i thought i would add on.

Deflecting is not my thing and you can go back and read i don't deflect or avoid at all. Not my style...

So before this gets to be something it wasn't intended to be hopefully that clears things up.

Oh and Go LV🍊
