Saw the Vols play Texas A&M the other day and their ball movement was far superior to anytime I had seen them this season. The Lady Vols need to get to where they were the other night moving the ball. They had so many open looks from the three am sure we could make at least 8 in a game with that same movement of the ball.

Agreed. Hopefully that will come, if the lineup doesn't suffer another shakeup.

But maybe the hardest thing to do as a team is to initiate faster ball movement while simultaneously working on lowering your turnovers. It's like asking the same part of your brain to do seemingly opposite things.

Kind of a Schrödinger's Catch 22.

We have had a game or two but some of it was due to poor defense from our opponent. Kentucky we had 10 3s and I thought we moved the ball really well. Kentucky was moving in molasses on defense all game though.

Be nice to see us get Tess a few clean looks from the outside. Earlier in SEC play she was popping the transition 3s and that’s really what we need from her. It’s tough to get her enough time to get a clean look in our halfcourt offense.

VolBall09, it's Game Day. Are you still feeling fairly confident Tennessee can win tonight?

Most definitely! I think this will be a victory. I was far more concerned about the Arkansas game. That was the real test. For years we have let one bad loss compound into another. Was really nice to see us bounce back and fight to beat a hot team after the big let down.

I do believe this team has learned their lesson. Also suspect they aren’t overlooking Florida at all. They have very obviously been playing well.

I think the players AND the coaching staff over looked Auburn.

Also don’t think this team is focused too much on Sunday. That will obviously be a big game but there is less to be anxious about compared to years passed. I think we have the upper hand going into that one for the first time in 15 years.

This game today will be a win if every player contributes like they should and we don't get inconsistent or actually awful play from any players like we did at Auburn. The coaches give the players a plan for success some don't always follow it for one reason or another. Consistent play from all your players has been a positive for this team this season. In the last three or four games even though we've won three of them there have been some negatives. I am hoping that none of that happens today.

Yes and I am feeling like it will be an Alexus Dye POG day
ark hogs head coach said in post press they key on key and dye. that left rae, sara, jordan h to get theirs. we might win a national champship if rae or jordan score 30. but better change if 4 plus lady vols score 10 plus.

The Lady Vols need to play their "A" game to get a win tonight. They lose or almost lose when they don't play their "A" game. Their "A" game is: strong defense, good rebounding and clutch offense.

I’m definitely worried about this one. Florida is a much improved team this year, and this is a classic “trap game” with the showdown with UConn coming up next. We’d better not be looking ahead. UF deserves our full focus. Anything less and we leave Gainesville with a loss.
I think after the Auburn loss, we’ll be ready for FLA.

I need to see Snoop attack the rim and boards. I know her style is mostly smooth, but sometimes she looks like she’s only shifting into 3rd gear.

Agreed. It’s hard for me to tell if it’s mental or physical. At times she has just seemed like her body is worn out.

Against Arkansas she seemed mentally fatigued. The SEC is a long season. Especially if you’re undersized in the post. Can wear on players for certain.

This will not be an easy one but a winnable one. The Gators are a scrappy bunch. Heavy on defense like us but like us a little lite on offense. We will need some outside shooting success but can occasionally score in the paint. The Gators will do a good job defending the paint, however, TK will have opportunities, however, we should avoid being a one trick pony on either side of the ball. Substituting should be done with care avoiding wholesale substitutions just because we have a lead. I think this team is a bit better than Auburn. We have to keep in mind that day in and day out, the SEC, from top to bottom, is a dangerous conference and can blowup in your face at a moment’s notice. We should also realize when you are ranked, you have a big target 🎯 on your back, especially when you are ranked in the top ten. It doesn’t take much to get opposing teams up for you. I hope we play the Gators as if they are the number one team in the country.
