I wonder if coach's comment to her team in the middle of the third quarter was also meant for us boarders ( paraphrased) "the way the game is being played has been established - you can either play the game or whine about it "-. without a doubt our coach recognized the inequality of calls/noncalls as a reality of playing away games.
In my opinion, game winning play was Key's block of three point attempt by Arkansas' big in fourth quarter. She not only blocked the shot...she grabbed the 50/50 ball and drew fourth foul on Arkansas' big. Went to the line and made both free throws. Potentially a five point play. Gut punch to Arkansas.
You don't think SC gets a friendlier whistle in Columbia, or the guards shoot a little better on their homecourt rims? I have zero doubts SC wins that game at home...
I continue to be impressed with our interior game. We knew the team strength going into the season would be our guards and wings but it is the post players who have taken ownership!
I was surprised to read today was our 11th come-from-behind win of the season. It's also the 5th fourth quarter comeback. They may not be the offensive juggernaut some want but they may be the toughest team we've had in some time. Held Arkansas to 30% FG shooting.
I hear a familiar echo that defense and rebounding win championships. Add in a little more offense and the LVs are ready to knock down the door. Let's go get'em.
We hit 64 percent from the line today about the best were going to get until Burrell gets back. She missed two today which kind of shocked me . but she has been out two months.
