If we play any kind of decent basketball game we'll win this game tomorrow. Were more talented than they are and a lot quicker. They certainly have more discipline and better shot selection. Play more under control with an understanding of what they are trying to do on offense. Probably don't win if we put up 35 threes and make 9 don't think that will be good enough. Just to many shots to score just 27 points. Were still free lancing on offense and even with all the subbing don't seem to have a forty minute gas pedal. We let up to many possessions on defense in the Florida St game. We didn't make Latson work hard enough to get the ball or prevent her from taking easy shots. . Were going to be a really good team just don't know how long it is going to take us to get there. I'm hoping for a complete game tomorrow. The Florida State game was a tale of two halves. First half we played one of our best halves of the season and second half the absolute worst of the season. Kim likes to see the team play like they did in the first half of that game and act like they are ten behind starting the second half. Intensity for forty minutes is the goal were still trying to get there. I will tale 45 percent from the field overall and 35 from the three every game we play coupled with about 15 free throws and with those numbers I say we win most of the games we play.

Remember, though, that Tennessee is unique in that everyone crashes the boards for rebounds, giving us many more opportunities for put-backs. While opponents are leaking a guard or two back in anticipation of a fast break, our players are outnumbering their players in the rebound war. Our increased odds of scoring on our 3-pt misses could very well be a primary reason we will beat Iowa.

Tennessee's got this! 💪🏻

We certainly need it now as 40 percent usually don't win and 27 from the three. Shoot until we make it has been our thing on a lot of possessions this season and in the Florida St game.

The Lady Vols are more athletic than Iowa. If we can keep the paint fairly clean, continue to gang rebound, guard the three and don’t lose our focus, we win this one and the Lady Vols are ranked for the first of many times in the CKC era.

Interesting matchup with Iowa as both teams have new coaches. Also interesting that there's a school in Iowa, Grinnell College, whose coach has a rather unique style of play similar to the LVs. Run and shoot, sub in teams of 5 every few minutes. Not nearly the caliber of players, and not a lot of pressure defense played, but they can run people out of the gym with their style. They hold (or held) a few scoring recorded including one player scoring 138 in a game. When I first heard about Caldwell's style of play, it's the first school that popped into my mind. Go Lady Vols, jump into that top 25.

Grinnell has been mentioned here by others. Grateful to know it actually exists!

Iowa doesn’t have CC, but the returning players have been in a lot of big game environments. This seems like a bigger game for our team and staff. It’s our first game away from FCC.

I think if we shoot better and keep up the defensive intensity and rebounding, we win. I think this could be our best game of the season so far. I’ve been saying this team is saving its hot shooting for the road. Don’t think it can’t get any worse, so here’s hoping.
LadyVols don’t have Rickea, so there’s no excuses. I want this win actually more than any this season, I’ve been waiting since the game was announced.

Candace because all of her shots would be dunks and Clark can't dunk.

Whereas Candace would occasionally hit whatever Clark can hit no matter how deep a shot.

Candace wouldn't resort to that lowdown tactic. She wouldn't want to win on a dunk when she knows Clark isn't even physically built for dunking. No, she'd play fair and, hopefully, be able to knock down shots. 🤗

After much study and thought, not to mention a heavy dose of medicinal libations, I have managed to come to a decision on the upcoming game vs Iowa and the predicted score of same.

With hand over heart/mouth. I predict that the score will be...

Iowa 84
Tenn 82

God help us all...

Why continuously comparing players from past and present?

Although do it the right way Apple to Apples, position players,

Parker vs Reese
Clark vs Taurasi

Good suggestion.

Who's better?

Clark or Taurasi? Clark. Her speed and passing elevate her over Taurasi. Plus, I don't think Clark's a mouthy b*tch.

Parker or Stewart? Duh.

Catchings or Reese? Duh.

Catchings or Moore? Catchings. Her defense and relentlessness put her over the top.

Who else...?

one player:
controlling the entire game: Clark
Taking my game winning shot midrange: Taurasi
dominating a game completely: Stewart
Defending ANYONE!: Catchings
At the elbow receiving for a one on one game winning shot: Rickea
