Caldwell has a really low buyout. That's all I have to say about that. I'd hate to see a team pay her what's she's worth because she may be on the next Greyhound out of town. Cheapskate Vols may not be able to afford a coach like her. They still owe Harper money, so they probably can't afford Kim.

UT next game is against 0 10 NC Central and they have played LSU UGA UNC LSU and FSU so far, losing anywhere from 40 to almost 90. Glorified scrimmage, but another game to try and play different lineups and gain more chemistry. Would be awesome to have back to back home games against Oklahoma and LSU and being undefeated as we enter those games. Too bad LSU isn't a Sunday game where I think close to 15K would show up. Danny White and Co. need to have either pom pom shakers or things to wave when Oklahoma comes to town Jan 5th.

I wasn’t even criticizing her in the post I was just observing that she seems to have a better feel for the three ball in the corners, even going back last year the same was true. I thought I heard late December/early January but could be wrong on that. And my understanding is Jenna knows her ways and system inside and out and she's next in line but KC wants to be back asap. I remember being a new first time mom... it's amazing but also A LOT, I hope the best for her and her family as that time comes!

Jenna Burdette is her right hand. I expect her to handle it while Kim’s away.

If we had shot 50 percent instead of 39 it would've been a blowout. We forced almost all those turnovers they couldn't handle our pressure that well.

After the game "What ifs?" are usually true for both teams. In the above case, they didn't limit turnovers and we didn't shoot 50% so both are moot points.

Kim is changing the game and style of play for women’s basketball. Other teams have to change their approach to Tennessee and not the other way around. Like the fast paced offense of Oregon under Chip Kelly of running plays under 17 seconds, never heard of…now it’s part of college football.

I understand the “rush” to get back but, as a mom, I pray she spends as much time with that sweet baby as possible. Time flies and that’s one thing we can’t get back. Not that she needs any advice from me, but I’d also tell her to listen to her body. Can’t wait to see/meet the little one.

Read some of the Iowa thread. Only a few negative comments against us, no more than our game threads when we aren't doing well. I think you grossly stereotype the Iowa fans the way their worst fans stereotype black players. They were some who were talking about how good the Lady Vols are. Most were bellyaching about their team or the officials. Sounds familiar in a game thread, doesn't it. The Iowa fans who are vocally racist should be called out. That is not acceptable. However, casting a team's fan base as racist due to a few idiots is uncalled for as well. (Fun fact: which politically tossup state swung the most democratic for Obama for both terms and then turned red after that- Iowa, apparent home of all racists)

Not getting anyone injured is the main goal from here until SEC season. These are all cupcakes, tho Richmond is apparently slightly less so. I'm hoping for heavy mins for the end of the bench - Edy, Ace, Favor, even Destiny Wells. And lets see if we can get Sara and Jewel in a groove.

It's highly likely now we'll be 12-0 heading into OK and LSU. And you're right, there are only 3 Sunday home games the rest of the season and that really hurts. Last yr LSU was a noon Sunday game and had 15K actual butts in seats. The OK game is on Sunday.

She's been purposely vague on the due date. Man I give CKC so much credit for how she's handled her pregnancy, which she was clear was a surprise to them and not the timing she would have chosen. It's had zero impact on the seasson, almost an afterthought, and I'm sure that's by design. She just wasn't going to let it be a factor. I'm sure she'll handle things post birth the same. I'm certain there's a plan. Lots of coaching experience on that bench.

Also Vol Nation has our own share of racists, homophobes, and sexists. But we'll never convince DP of that. He guards his personal insult like the king's ransom.

I don't ever see Kim being performative, at all. That's going to disappoint a few posters who go in for what Indiana players use to call "Bobby Knight Theatre". She'll get into refs and players when she feels necessary but as far as scheming a Kim Mulkey type performance, Kim Caldwell just feels lway too genuine and no nonsense for that. Hell the halftime interviews and post game pressers can barely get more than a few terse words out of her. She has no time for all that foolishness.

Coach Kim just has to be Coach Kim. She's doing a phenomenal job already. She approached the officals numerous of times. You reaching right now!

After the game the post game people kept saying how Tennessee got out rebounded. That is going to happen when you miss 47 shots to them missing 27 all those balls have to be rebounded either defensively or offensively. 20 more misses is almost assured you lose the defensive rebounding stat which is more than made up by their 30 turnovers to our nine. We again won the offensive boards if only slightly 13 to 11. The five for thirteen from the three is exactly what we need every time we play that was the key to winning last night.
