Improved 3 pt shooting in the second half (by the hair of our chiney chin chin) was huge of course. But also keeping our own t.o.s down was key. Their 30 t.o.s wouldn't have been near as effective if we had matched it w 20 of our own. Our passing is much crisper this year. After the game the post game people kept saying how Tennessee got out rebounded. That is going to happen when you miss 47 shots to them missing 27 all those balls have to be rebounded either defensively or offensively. 20 more misses is almost assured you lose the defensive rebounding stat which is more than made up by their 30 turnovers to our nine. We again won the offensive boards if only slightly 13 to 11. The five for thirteen from the three is exactly what we need every time we play that was the key to winning last night.
Amazing how this team can play this fast and commit less than 20 turnovers. I think our high for the season is 16 against Florida State mostly on telegraphed passes.Improved 3 pt shooting in the second half (by the hair of our chiney chin chin) was huge of course. A big part of it is not forcing passes into the post, and having post players who can actually catch a pass. Love TK forever, but her hands were not good, nor were/are Jill's.Amazing how this team can play this fast and commit less than 20 turnovers. May fault for misunderstanding you. It appears to me like she’s straining more to get her shot up from anywhere else on the floor.Just more of a point I was telling Chuck about Tess .
Than your post.
Tess shots good where the baseline top of the baseline.
Tess turns down shots more than most players that she's knows that she doesn't have a good chance of making.
Your post wasn't Tess trashing.

Got give Iowa credit they box out on rebounds. After the game the post game people kept saying how Tennessee got out rebounded. They had 47 Tennessee missed shots to rebound we only had 27 shots they missed to rebound that says more about the difference than anything else.On

Didn't Kim say rebound is effort or want to. Not her exactly word for word.
Iowa coach said blue collar work effort.
Work effort can over come taller players sometimes.
Tenn effort was there on rebounds to.
Like you said Iowa had more opportunities because of Tennessee miss shots.
So Tennessee made up the difference in tourover force.
For Tennessee winning rebounds + force turnovers total should be bigest stat. If

Well that broke the internet…
Not to mention all the wrap arounds. they were letting her get away with. The Refs started out rough, but I thought it evened out as the game progressed. Could've fouled Olsen out as she uses that off hand to much to push defenders away. They finally called a couple could've called six more.
Let be more clear both teams gave good effort on rebounds. They had 47 Tennessee missed shots to rebound we only had 27 shots they missed to rebound that says more about the difference than anything else.
Yes I like us taking 77 shots to their 50. We needed them cause we were not shooting that well. Like all the other game we keep winning shots on goal by a lot definitely want to keep that going and hopefully make just a little higher percentage of them. 39 percent last night was enough to win because of a huge volume of additional shots.Let be more clear both teams gave good effort on rebounds.
Still say total rebounds+ turnovers force is important stat.
That leads to bigger stat shot taking.
I’m not too much worried on Sara yet. For the last two seasons she’s had terrible start but she finds a way to dig herself out of her slump the second half on the season. I’ve always felt like Sara should be used in the paint more anyway. She’s such a physical person. Have her work inside out to see if that helps get her going.Tess looks better than she ever has to me. Same shooter and moving much better. 50% from three from her made a huge difference last night.
Sara’s shot is the one that suddenly looks really clunky and strange. She added a lot more arch to her shot and I’m not sure why. It was totally fine before and looked pure. Now she loads up like crazy and flings it to the rafters off the back rim everytime.

I made a concerted attempt to pay attention to Sara's shots last night. I agree on the arc being a bit too much, but she also seems to be rushing her shot as well to the point that I'm not sure she's really seeing the rim before taking the shot.
Tess getting open looks .
Even last year when teammates pass her the ball her shot look good.
The coach is responsible for the overall offense.
But some part of good offense production is sharing the basketball that's on the players

I'm reserving judgement on Tess until I see some consistency. Her history has been the occassional good game, usually against lesser comp, and the occassional big shot. She's def hit a few over her career.
But the rest of her history, along w that of Jewel, has been complete disappearance in the biggest games against the best comp. If she could add that, it would be great.
If one of Tess, Jewel, or Sara could put together a consistent shooting string of games, it would be such an important next step for the team.
Tess/Jewel/Sara are about equal liabilities on D. Again, will make the occassional nice play, but far from consistent. You hold your breath when they're guarding one on one.
