Could not have said it betterThis is what it looks like when a bunch of kids you pick up in the portal play against a team that has played together and been developed together in a superior system that has an identity, and is run by a coach that does more than run a turnstyle on the sideline and sit on his hands when his kids are rattled.
We might be better by the end of the year, but it was foolish to think you could build a team this way and come out firing on all cylinders against a tough schedule.
This is just pathetic, and it is absolutely inexcusable to see it happen this far into Kellie's tenure.
This team is light years away from where it should be.

THIS! We need a STATEMENT season to turn recruiting around! I thought about this midway through the 3rd quarter. We have to perform this year, no ifs, ands or buts.Wow!!!! I understand the dynamics of bringing new pieces together and making them fit. But in the same token when we strike out on top recruits, we had to come out with a big win to start the season.
At this moment, you aren't wrong. But I do think they have huge upside, but might take some more L's before they reach their potential. They were overrated at #5, so maybe a healthy drop in the rankings and being forced to earn their way back to the top 5 might provide the motivation they need to become a cohesive team. This is what it looks like when a bunch of kids you pick up in the portal play against a team that has played together and been developed together in a superior system that has an identity, and is run by a coach that does more than run a turnstyle on the sideline and sit on his hands when his kids are rattled.
