Game Thread : Lady Vols @ Arkansas, Thurs. 7PM; SEC Network win 87-66

One more thing about the game last night, and the last few games. Striplin is such a smart player, she is great at using her body to shield off defenders under the basket when RJ and JH drive. One play in the Vandy game, she blocked out two at once allowing a layup. It's the little things.
Striplin was not getting into games to start the season. She has done a solid job. However she clearly is not as good as either Hollingshead or Franklin and as we move into the postseason it seems to me Striplin needs to he replaced in the starting lineup by Hollingshead with Franklin subbing in for her. Nothing against Karo but it is time to make this change.

The win on the road at Missouri was a Q1 win.[/QUOTE]
Does anyone know if at the end of the season they consider it a Q1 based on when you played them or which quadrant the team is in at the end of the season. Missouri may not be a Q1 team at the end of the season given their trajectory.

I agree with those who think Jackson and others played too many minutes in a blow-out game. It's not about whether she and others can play
33 minutes or whatever the number, of course they can. It's why are you not giving your subs more minutes with a 20-point lead? We're way ahead in the 4th quarter and Pissot plays...2 minutes? Wynn and Miles, one or two minutes. Puckett: 10 mins. I thought Hollingshead was playing well enough to be getting more minutes, but in the last two games her minutes have been low. It was nice to see Powell get good PT and play well, but Harper's rotation/minutes are always in flux.
Maybe CKH is wising up and realizing that the NET Rankings also have to do with how you beat another team. 20 points against a team that can shoot the 3 and puts up a lot of 3's that could get hot on their home court isn't a big lead. 20 years ago maybe, but not today. That bench should have been shortened a month ago in my opinion. If every possession really does matter, you can't have a big drop-off from the main rotation for substantial periods of time, especially this late in the season. It's long past time to get tournament ready.

She only averages 10 minutes a game. She is playing back up minutes starting or coming off the bench.

Their final ranking will matter. If they fall below 75 in the NET they would become a Q2 win instead of one. We have to hope that doesn't happen. I don't think we have to worry about any of our Q1 losses becoming Q2 almost every team we lost to is ranked above us.

I understand she only averages 10 minutes. Question is should she be getting that many or starting. Nothing against her just think we need as we move forward to tighten rotation and starting lineup

Why start your 3rd best defensive post player against the opponents starting post. Every point counts as we move towards one loss and done time.

Really hope Kellie learned her lesson from the UConn game and does NOT start her against SC...

Not with this mindset...

"I don't like to change things. I'm not big on change. I like to settle in and everybody defines their roles. As long as something is working for us, and right now Jillian [Hollingshead] is playing really well off the bench, that's fine. The starting lineup is not the biggest thing for me. Let's have consistency. Let everyone know their roles and understand what's about to happen. That to me is more important than who's out there first."

I would respectfully disagree. Put your best foot forward, start as best as you can. Holl is the third best player on the LV roster. She has a much higher ceiling than anyone else CKH puts in the 5 spot and tbh, she could end up being an All SEC player in her career, the others will never sniff that opportunity at the 5 spot. I mean come on, give me a real reason not to start your best player at her position. It’s almost ridiculous some of you try to spin this.

Yeah, we get you don’t like change…most people who get older hate change….that’s when you know it is time for change. Get busy changing and evolving or get busy dieing. Jumper, you may be a great LV fan, and also a dedicated coach of the game for self described 35 plus years, but your style is showing its age with refusal for change. Change is constant in the game, adapt and conquer or stay old school where “change is not your thing” and perish.

I have noted over the years all of your thoughts and expectations for players and I have absorbed such with respect Given your background. But let me be frank here, without going into detail and exposing all the incorrect assessments, the game may have passed you by, you have been wrong almost every damned time.

I like you, I hated posting that. But damn it, your instincts have been so wrong for so long that I don’t trust anything you text reference the game anymore. I am sorry, and I apologize for being brutally honest.

I...don't like change?
This is a statement from "old Coach Kellie"

Now, tell me how you really feel about me, frank

Jumper, again, I hate that I had to post that. I hope there is peace between us, but I suspect you will be on a warpath now. Anyway, I believe everyone understands this situation. It goes back way back, where you were against Kelly, then for, and then again accused of meddling and against again etc etc etc….then the player evaluations (remember where you said Strip was a 14 point 8 rebound player as a true freshman) etc etc , It is a long list and I won’t reiterate.

not sure where I was against Kellie, except on this "I don't like to change things..." rant.

No warpath unless I am attacked relentlessly
we have coexisted and will continue to do so

That Chicken thought he had you, but doesn't even understand quotes. """"""""""""""""""

Yeah, I thought it was clear that Jump was quoting Kellie, especially since he used the same quote (or paraphrase a couple of times before).

Meanwhile...
