Game Thread Lady Vols at Georgia

She isn't the leading scoring & the diamond and Russell have played the same amount of minutes, she has to suck it up & give her all every game.

It's my understanding and everyone I hear talking bout this team is that Nard is the most consistent player on this team night in and night out.
What this mean to me is that 'game after game' she is performing at a high level of play without lunchbreak.
The last two games alone she was 25 plus points and count the other stats.

Diamond and MR may play as many minutes as Nard , but has taken games off. Diamond has only recently come alive. Nared has been doing it the entire year.
MR play and pace during games and her play and pace manner let a guard in her box while she stood and watched.
Then stood and watch while Robinson snatch a rebound which should have been hers. That's 'play and pace'.
She got caught flat footed both times.
Crucial times at that.
So playing forty don't mean Jack.
Nard has been giving her all and then some.
Bottom line is lower tier teams make great mattresses, only some don't let sleeping dogs lie.
Boss Holly may want to looked into some sort of plan to rest her big three because further down the road you want Nard and company well rested.

Diamond is the leading scorer on the team & 2nd in the SEC, I never understood why ppl made it seem like diamond was the inconsistent one. Diamond is averaging 21 pts, 7 rebounds & 4 assist in SEC play so please stop with the inconsistent talk. Nared is a great player but she is never held accountable like diamond, when the team lose ppl find a way to blame her & she put up 34 points.

We got tired and made mistakes after mistakes.. I would give them two days off and practice the 8th and have game day shoot around like a mini practice. We will end up being 21-9 11-5 in conference and number 3 and holly will not be going in no where.. we can get a 3 seed if we win every game. But ms state and at least get to semifinals of sec tournament

We looked more tired in the first quarter and just scoring 8 points than any time in the game I thought

If they dont shape up, i can see them losing a few more sec games. Mizzou, arky and a and m wont be pushovers.

TeeNay, I never said DD was inconsistent.
I said Nared was the most consistent player and this isn't only my view or statement.I have no problem with the so called big three or Holly. But I do have a problem with these three things.
Short or no playing time for short bench.
Guards with no purpose.
No rest for the weary.

Diamond added more minutes to her highlight reel today. If she's available, she'll be one of the first three picks in the WNBA draft.

If both DD and MR turn pro, next year could be really ugly.

If not, can you see any of the freshmen next year catching DD's passes or taking her kind of leadership role? Can you foresee Holly having the new freshmen clicking and meshing offensively? If you say yes, you have a good imagination.

CD you deserved better

Throwing up 28 shots is not helping your team to win. Let's be candid: DD is too erratic and is way too careless with the ball; she leads the team in turnovers by a LOT.
Well who the hell us going to step up if Diamond don't besides Russell and Nared. Offensively we have no one else so sometimes you have to take it into your own hands. Diamond has tried to get other involved they can't catch her passes. I was always taught to look at the ball because you never know a guard may pass to you. Those passes Diamond makes they make those in the WNBA all day long. I bet Geno take her in a heartbeat because she plays with passion on both ends.

Disappointed in the loss. The game came on in the wee hours of the morning for me so I didn't watch it. A short bench and a main player having an off night apparently was too much to overcome. No shortage of couch coaches with opinions but I was optimistic that they could win but didn't feel good about this particular game. Don't know why....just didn't feel good about it. I'm not offering explanations for why they lost as there are enough of those already. Just disappointed in the outcome. Hopefully a learning experience for the team.

They have had 8 real learning experiences this year and how many last year .....10.... how many more they will have this year being the slow learners that they are ?

As many as it takes. Dissing players and coaches in a public forum may make you feel better but it does nothing to make those around you feel better. Be frustrated if that is what you want to be but why not think of others rather than your need for self gratification. I'll be disappointed for the ladies for a little while but it is only a game and I won't let it make me into a chronic complainer like some have done. Instead of complaining, why not try to figure out how to deal with the disappointment and move on?

IF, IF, IF..... One scenario out of many......If Georgia makes their foul shots, the game doesn't go to overtime.

PPl yes I was a tough Loss ok, but we will win the next two games and we will be 3rd in conference when all said and done.

You seem very sure about Missouri and TAMU. Other than MSU, those are the toughest teams left on their schedule.

Was watching Missouri play MSU yesterday. They have the potential to be a very tough matchup and have the kind of post player that can get MR in foul trouble by drawing her away from the paint with perimeter shooting, and then attacking the basket. Tennessee will have to be on top of their game to come out with a win. Same against TAMU.

I am sure about Missouri Two things we just lost and we will be at home and TAMU . we are at home and that will be the separation game to be number 3rd in sec

As yesterday's loss reminded us, this LVs team can lose to anyone on any given day. They could lose to both aTm and Mizzou-- or beat them both then turn around and lose at Bama. There are no gimmes when you have no idea which LV players will show up day-to-day.

Baylor game excluded, we've looked pretty good in most home games this year, so even though aTm and Mizzou are tougher competition, I think the Bama game is a bigger risk. We've really played to the level of competition on the road -- up (USC, and somewhat Texas) and down (PSU, VT, Auburn, Ole Miss, UGa).

Not sure either of your quotes will happen!!! Team to helter skelter at the drop of a hat and there is also our lack of good judgement in passes into the post and really passes anywhere IMHO!
