Next year is a lame duck year with the expectations and zero roster to get there. She’ll lose her two best players and potentially more.

AD's should never allow lame duck years. Those are wasted opportunities, and they only serve to dig the hole deeper.

Yep. It’s just really disappointing as well. Had some hope and thought this might be the season we saw a decent turnaround.

Hasn’t been without its trials, but even so it’s little excuse. I actually do not think this roster is that bad. It’s just being grossly mismanaged. 5 players should be playing 35 minutes and 2 should be playing about 15 off the bench and some scattered minutes here and there at the end of quarters for others to give players a blow.

You are right on Volballo9. Kellie needs to start her best 5 players by position and let them play. Substitutions should only be made when neccesary: foul trouble, sickness, injury and so forth. Kellie is very stubborn about her substitution routine. Unfortunately, this stubborness is going to cost her job unless the UT AD gives up on returning the LVs to their former elite status in WCBB. Kellie is not able to get the LVs to the top 25. Its going to be worst next year with no Jackson or Horston.

I can see her turning us down. She’s a good fit for Duke and was heavily recruited there by Gail. She may feel indebted to them for giving her a chance when others passed her over. I can see her being their Tony Vitello.

I'm sure Coach Harper is very knowledgeable and knows the game but not everyone is a great coach who can translate what they want to do to the court. Its a skillset many lack. Some coaches also seem to struggle at P5's and thrive more in the mid majors.

I notice a lot of teams who went to the portal like crazy this past offseason to be struggling with the exception of a couple teams. Its clearly not how you build or sustain a program.

According to one of our fans, when you go to the portal it takes time for a group of girls to sync (in more ways than one) if you get my drift.

I’m going to stand up for the players. Tennessee is fortunate. If it wasn’t for the portal players this season would be worse at this point. Rickea Jackson and Jillian Hollingshead could’ve done a lot better for themselves with the options they had on the table. Jasmine Powell could’ve found a better fit and her numbers would be significantly better. Jasmine Franklin is recovering from a difficult injury. This is a regression within the organization of the program.

I am not sure that would do it because where would she make this sort of money other than here? There would be no incentive for her not to make us buy her out. And we have no idea of the internal dynamics there. They may both be absolutely fine with it.

They do not have to win the SEC tournament. They need to get to 21 wins - four more wins. Maybe 20, but 21 is safer by country mile.

I would hope we could do better. There were some decent options the last time around. I am not sure who would be a good choice this time out.

I'm all ears for qualified candidates, but you're not getting any of those four and I don't know what candidates meet the tough coach/great recruiter profile while being A) young-ish and B) having a proven track record. It seems like Niele Ivey and Kara Lawson are two of the best options, and Niele isn't leaving Notre Dame.
