I think Tennessee is the better team, and they should win this game. The Turner-Harrison matchup will probably decide the game. If Turner has a game like she did against UNC, then they will win. I'd rather see them shut down Turner and gamble on Loyd beating them with jump shots.

I like Tennessee by 8, but the players have to step it up. This is a senior team, so they can't go to South Bend scared. Notre Dame has a young team. so Tennessee needs to come out strong from the get go and give them reasons to be nervous. They will not win this game if they come out slow and try to play catch up.

No Diggins, no McBride, no Achonwa. Tennessee needs to capitalize and make this a statement game. I'm not terribly concerned about their lackluster performance at Auburn, since that was the classic trap game. Even from their post-game comments, they didn't see Auburn as a threat. They were probably looking ahead to Notre Dame. Well, that game is here on Monday, so it's time for them to make sure Notre Dame (to quote Brenda Freese) knows their name by the end of this one.

I think we have a better chance to win than we have in the past. We need players to execute and if that happens this is a very close game. We have the ability still have to execute and bring effort. I think the effort will be there making shots will decide this one.

I think we had a better chance to win last year. We had homecourt advantage and a 12 point lead with only 25 minutes to play. We had a bevy of rather healthy former HS AA stars. We had over 13,000 fans yelling for us. Harrison played with only one foul. We shot 19 free throws but missed 9 of them and gave up 11 offensive rebounds. We proved early in the game that we had the weapons to take ND then, but the pressure was too much for a mentally fragile team. We crumbled.

Now the game is there and so is the momentum in regards to the history of this match-up. There is a price to pay to regain the throne. You can't just keep knocking at the castle door. At some point you have to kick it down and take it.

Lay down your swagger and pick up your dagger.

Tenn will not be able to keep Notre Dame scoring low enough to win. Notre Dame has a complete offense, inside and outside. In addition, Tenn's press and trapping defense will be much less effective against an elite team like the Irish. I expect to see tenn abandon their press after the Irish break it for easy baskets.

I've watched quite a bit of SEC BB this season and a lot of contact is let go. That won't happen at Notre Dame. I expect to see Tenn get whistled often on offensive rebounding attempts. Harrison is foul prone and Muffet trains her players well on making it look good. The other thing I noticed is that SEC teams collapse their defense into the paint. That won't work on Monday. If Mabrey and Cable get open looks from the arc the LV's are going to be unable to keep up with the Irish scoring machine.

If Harrison and Massengale can stay out of foul trouble, play 34+ minutes each & if both can score at the upper end of their range the game could be close. Too many if's.

Tn just needs to let it rip! play fast, play loose, and pour on the steam. Then if ND wins anyway, they'll have nothing to be ashamed of. my $0.02

ND was a far better team than Tennessee last year. McBride and Achonwa made them a much deadlier team, even with the addition of Turner this year. Plus, Braker was a very good defensive post.

Defensively, this year's ND team is not that great. They've allowed teams like Depaul, Syracuse, Miami and North Carolina to have high scoring affairs. I think Tennessee has more offensive capabilities than any of those teams.

If Tennessee gives a full 40 minutes effort and continue to play defense the way they have since the Texas game, they should win this. Keep Turner away from offensive rebounds, and don't sag off Mabrey so she can get in a groove. I like their chances much more than I have in any game in the losing streak since the first one.
