The game last season that shocked me was when Tennessee went to Oregon State. Oregon State played man and lost. Don't they have scouting reports?
I don't profess to know the Oregon State coaches philosophy - he may play man as a way to demand a better performance from his team. Better teams usually (not always) play man by virtue of having better, faster, quicker athletes. You can force more turnovers that way and pressure the opponent easier and better. But OSU didn't have those athletes IMO. They were fairly slow and pedestrian on the perimeter. I'm not sure why they played man.
