only guard we have who could defend the tx guards is DD and she can't guard them all at the same time.... :(

tn needs to shoot the lights out to have a chance because they can't stop anybody.

Also depends if Ariel Atkins is cleared for duty or not. If she plays, that's another Texas guard that will be a matchup problem. McCarty, Atkins and Higgs are the three primary backcourt players that can hurt Tennessee with their speed, scoring ability and shooting.

The number of losses is less important than who they lost to. Texas has lost to #2 UConn, #5 Miss. St., #6 South Carolina, and #10 Stanford. So, it is possible they could be ranked #11 (behind all those teams that beat them). AP and USA Today both rank Texas #17 and Massey has them at #22 (with a SOS of #2). Teams usually don't drop much from losing to a top-ten team. Kudos to Texas for scheduling so many tough OOC opponents so early in the season.

NO energy, we're not active on both sides of the ball, our hands aren't up on defense, we are not bodying cutters, we're not roughing up opposing guards up, we are not playing defense with our feet and not talking.

A sagging mane or zone , should be ideal, cos even Baylor scored what 58 points in the paint, when their bigs having a rough day, ladies give em space, put a hand in their face and make them shoot over you.

Are we going to out work Texas? Shoot, let Texas shoot the three, I'd rather they shoot the three than get to the basket for an easy uncontested layup. Lady Vols by 3.

Theoretically say a team plays a 30 game schedule against the top 30 teams in the country and loses all 30 games and is 0-30. They are ranked 31st?

If the voters believe that they are better than (and would beat) every team ranked 32 through 300+, then yes.

The AP and USA Today rankings are subjective and subject to human error and bias. They don't rank teams by their records, but rather their records against other teams. They will rank a team behind those teams they feel are better, and they will rank a team ahead of those teams they feel are weaker. If ranking were based only on W/L records, all the undefeated teams would be ranked first, and they would be followed by all the one-loss teams (then the two-loss teams, etc.).

There are currently several undefeated teams in Division I that are unranked.

If you want a more scientific approach, look at the rankings on Massey which use complicated algorithms to assign relative weights to teams based on a number of factors.

I'm just wondering what is the intent of a post like this if you're a fan.

Can you explain? I'm not trying to pick a fight, just trying to understand how fan, someone who supposedly loves the Lady Vols, could make a post like this.

Did you watch Mercedes' press conference today? This quote stood out to me: "It's times like this, encouragement - especially positive encouragement - is what we need the most."

Are you a Lady Vols fan? If so, how could you post such a thing?

I haven't been on here for very long but even I know that gule posts the same score predictions for every game... its just his thing. I find it comforting since it is so consistent and when you see it you know he hasn't keeled over yet.

I was referring to his comment, "Texas is gonna bury the last of the Lady Vol pride."

I just found it disgusting is all.

I gotcha...an acquired taste. Well, I'll try to acquire it, then. I got called a bully on here earlier today and that's not how I mean to come across at all. I'm a defender by nature...and I'm always for the underdog.

And I don't think we're going to get a stream other than audio, government mule. 😥 I can tell you they are wearing their smokey gray uniforms, though. 😳

uggh I hate the gray uniforms,I'm not sure how many schools Nike has given that color and say it is good :)

I noticed a bunch of grey in the ETSU game and most of them had left after it was a runaway,do they have the gray also ?

I'm not too crazy about the smokey grays either, mule. I'm a traditionalist, so I like orange and white only, and of course with a touch of the Carolina blue for the Lady Vols. I wonder if we will see that this year....
