Hide your eyes...this probably set women's basketball back at least two decades.

The worst part is as that Tennessee's futility at the offensive end and Rennia Davis' moving screen on Zaay Green to clear Vandy's path to the hoop wasn't the worst part; that missed layup at the end was a fitting finish to this sequence.

Did you see the version of this that someone put the Benny Hill Show theme on it?

Well that would be odd. Aren't they on the same team? Although there was that horrible time at Vandy when Rennia did actually appear to be defending her own player whilst the 'Dores did a breakaway. So much to choose from, but that viral video may have been the nadir of the Holly years.

Yes, the longer, apparently quicker JH would probably take the one on one matchup (unless she turned the ball over, sorry I had to say it!). So what? To me it shows JH belongs at the off guard position where her scoring spirit is more free to create. I don't like PG as a one on one position, got burned out on it through the last decade of bull through the lane and through up a prayer perimeter players we've had. Much rather have a steady eddy PG who initiates movement and flow. Bonus points if they can nail the occasional timely 3.

I've never understood the need to shoehorn JH in as PG. IMO JH is a creator and scorer, not a decider and distributor. As madtown said, probably that HS player so talented she was PG by default in an offense called get the ball to Jordan and get out of the way. Not working on the regular now. I want JH on the court big minutes, her defense and rebounding alone have been very valuable, but not as primary ball handler.

So best case scenario to me is Walker and Jordan, not against each other but beside ea other at 1 and 2. Of course that would require Walker to be at least adequate at steady eddy PG.

This is spot on. As I've said, the success of this team will depend largely on whether Walker develops into a competent point guard. As much as some fans insist it to be true, Jordan Guarantano isn't a point guard and never will be. The less she "runs" the offense, the better. Kellie knows this, it's why she didn't start her there this season.

Walker doesn't have to be the next Sue Bird, just play reliable defense, limit turnovers, get the ball to the primary wing scorers, and hit a reasonable percentage of shots when the defense plays off her. Think Ron Harper, who was a high volume scoring wing early in his career before he completely transformed his game to become a reliable defensive point guard when he joined the Bulls. This isn't one of Holly's players, Kellie chose to bring Walker in. Now it's time to coach her up...

Yes I would love to see a player actually go play somewhere she can start and play well. Cupcakes only pad the win total and I never said anything about Walker I just said we don’t have a quality PG. Sorry if you think any of that is untrue.
It's all your opinion...still trying to understand why your a "fan" of this team.....

I asked the question many times last year and never got an answer. Do we know if Jordan considers herself a point guard? Does she want to be? I agree, going back to when Jazmine left Kelly never has seemed to want to hand the keys completely over to Jordan. Has always, up thru her presser today, spoken of her as part of a combo solution at PG at most. Probably bc its so obvious her talents are best suited for shooting guard.

I suspect some (not naming names) who want JH installed as PG for Life are just wanting their anointed fave, obsessed-on player to have the ball in her hands as much as possible. They dream of the dominating high school pg JH who overpowers and dominates with her scoring ability while the others watch. IMO reality is JH would be much more valuable as primarily a 2 (or 3) who is capable of sliding over and giving a different, dynamic look at PG in certain situations. But as we've all said, for this to work Walker must be at least competent. Starting Sunday at Texas.

Personally I think that Horston should be playing the three. The problem is that Tennessee has two other players where the 3 is their best position in my opinion. Burrell and Davis. Burrell can and does play some 2 and Davis can and does play some 4, but there is a lot of duplication of skills that is hard to manage.

Davis is the best rebounder on the team, and can elevate and shoot inside. She's fine as a 4. Jordan might be the most gifted playmaker on the team, if she could get her turnovers under control. Her ideal role is playing the Hornbuckle to Walker's Bobbitt in the backcourt. Burrell has improved playing more in control while creating shots/drawing fouls off the dribble, an ideal wing.

Forget your starting lineup, those three, along with Walker at point and Key down low, are your closing lineup...

lol I think Jordan Horston would take offense to her name being used in the same way as TN incompetent QB....Jordan H. has been doing her job very good lately cant say the same for JG

I said when I saw Jordan Horston at the first of the season her new strength and size made her more suited to play another position where she could use it to her advantage. I actually like her as a four if she has a big center in at the five. I like her also at the two if we run some clear outs for her and let her take smaller guards to the basket on offense. She could also play the three. She is very versatile just wish she was a little better shooter and decision maker and that seems to be coming along as well. I'd like to see her guard the other teams best three point shooter her defense has evolved this season best defender on the team.

Exactly. Have said many times JH should play a position that highlights her many strengths, not her glaring weakness, decision making and ball handling. Have never understood why her superfans would want her to play PG and there's no evidence she actually wants to. It's pretty clear Harper doesn't want her to play full time PG right now.

I'm certainly not ruling out the possibility JH could sharpen her handle and decision skills and someday become a good point guard, though I always fear PG duties take away from scoring. I just don't want her learning on the job during games this year. If that happens, I believe it will be out of necessity, not choice, and that will hurt both the current season and JH as a developing player.

All of which means, once again, we really need Walker and Salary to be effective PGs for this season.

Yes, we do. I believe there will be many occasions during games when Jordan can get reps at PG to improve her skill set but I think she will be better at the 2, 3, or 4. Once the motion offense starts, I'm not sure there is a PG anyway

We should've faced guarded her. She was their best shooter by far and we needed to hold her below 20.

I agree. They would have struggled mightily if we were able to deny her the basketball. Would have created a lot of turnovers and a frustrating night for her. They run about everything through her so if you can keep the ball out of their hands the offense tanks.

I maintain they are. Baylor has dominated the Big 12 for well over a decade now. Not a shocking feat. Also not their most stunning performance. They only managed 65 points on them.

That's kinda the point. Comparatively speaking, this isn't looking like one of Baylor's better teams. WVU still got their #@# kicked. At home...
