I think Gregg is possibly the best clutch hitter I've ever seen at Tennessee.

What a big win! Gregg has been so good the last month, and Overstreet, too. Huge hit, clutch comeback.

Got to get Aldrete going--she is struggling. And I wonder if Koenig will even be in the lineup tomorrow. I doubt it. But a huge win.

Last few games her command has improved. I wonder if the cool weather affected Gabriel's hip. Her balls didn't seem to have the same movement they have had lately.

It's strange. I didn't like the looks of it at all the first few innings, but once she came in it was like the batters instantly struggled.

If we were to really get going during this tournament we'd be a terror. We just seem to hang around and get ugly wins.

Gaffin was great but the most important play early was the top of the 2nd when Geathers got to the line shot down the left field line, cut the ball off, and got the throw back to the infield to stop the second run from scoring. That would have made it 2-0 and then the home run the next inning would have made it 3-0. I thought it was a huge defensive play.

I think Tarango is just as important as Gaffin. With Aucoin apparently unable to pitch, the team has to have a reliable third pitcher. She allowed no runs the two innings she pitched although she allowed baserunners. The team needs her to pitch well.

Any idea why on earth the supposedly "elite" FSU pitching staff consisted on ONE girl tonight?

Starter was clearly struggling the last few innings.

Meghan Gregg is a superstar in the making. Wow, she is almost as good now as Shipman was by her senior year.

I just watched the FSU press conference. I didn't realize they got to the world series last season by beating Michigan the last two games on day two in the super regional at Michigan. So they are in the same position this season. The two players and the coach seemed unfazed by this loss. They all spoke of the two games tomorrow as if they have already won them. Interesting press conference.

Overstreet is apparently going to stay in the leadoff position. Ralph has tinkered with the batting order all season but in the press conference there were references to Overstreet staying were she is.

The FSU pitcher talked about pitching to Overstreet (They played against each other in travel ball a lot) and inadvertantly mentioned getting around Overstreet to get at the next batter. That would be Gaffin. She didn't mean it as a diss but still, I hope the LV's watch the FSU press conference. It's one thing to be positive and confident but if I were an LV I'd take that FSU press conference as a mild slap.

What do you expect them to do? Admit defeat. They should be thinking just the way they are.

I don't think she'll ever have the range or arm that Shipman had but she is a much better hitter as a freshman than Shipman.

I wonder if they'll go with Koenig again. I know they're hoping she'll wake up.

P.S-She has been very good defensively at first base.

I don't expect anything. A little civility would be nice, but on an internet message board that would be a foolish expectation. I hope the LV's watch the FSU press conference and take a little extra motivation from it. Why are you so combative?
