It's 11:00 local time. I don't like it either but it's all mental. The girls have to focus.

I didn't think 4 runs would be enough for Ole Miss. Ole Miss had the bases loaded 3 different times and never was able to score. I thought that would come back to bite them. Osias was good - only 89 pitches in a complete game.

My vote for dumbest question in history: Laura Rutledge to Ole Miss coach Mike Smith after Ole Miss's first-ever SEC tournament win "Why is this moment emotional for you?"

I did not get to watch much of the game but some of the media really do not have a clue what to ask!! I give OM the credit they played us great and followed it up with the great game today.

I heard a media person once talk about that and they said you ask questions for the most ignorant person in your audience, not the most knowledgeable.

Where's our game thread v. usc? Geer with a homer, Geathers with a two-run single: Vols up 4-1. Might have gotten more but Vines swung at a bad pitch (on a hitter's count) and Gregg coming up. Keep it rolling!

What's up with Gaffin..injury? McClain playing CF and it looked like the trainers were working with Gaffin in the dugout

We need a lot more runs Gabriel has been terrible today. She just walked a batter hitting .200.

Got hit with a pitch. She was in significant pain, taken somewhere on campus for x-rays. Appears to be left wrist/hand area.

Bases loaded (2 outs) and we are pitch hitting Lockman. Curious--her last hit was against florida, hitting under 200, no hits in last 27 at bats. On 3-2 pitch, she lines one that is caught by the second baseman. damn!

So if Gaffin is out how much does that hurt us for the rest of this tourney and the NCAA?

Lady Vols win 5-1..but it might come at a big cost as Gaffin may be out..Moss threw three good innings

Karen said that Gaffin will need to see an orthopedist and that they wouldn't know anything for a while.

They must've really lost their faith in McSwain.

is hitting .280/285, which is roughly 100 points ahead of Lockman. So it was a move that didn't make much sense, to be candid. It was almost genius--Lockman hit it well--but the bottom line was it was an out. I'm sure the coaches had their reasons and would be curious to hear them.

Great win!

I thought the Lockman pinch hit was not a bad call....she hit the ball well just a nice play by the 2nd baseman....Gaffin wrist hopefully is not broken and she can at least be a pinch runner as the season continues...Geathers bat is coming back around at the right time now as CJ will have to bat but she has been making contact from either side of the bat....if Kentucky wins we will get Nunley tomorrow

I as well do not have a problem with Lockman hitting for McSwain. McSwain looked a little timid at the plate each time she batted. Lockman hit it well and hard and 1 inch either way would have been a double. She is in a slump but you can not come out of it sitting on the pine. Still not sure that Leach is healthy or something. She did not seem to make the ride from Ktown to OM over the weekend and looks like she Sfmay not had made to to Starkville either. Not sure but she has not looked good the last several games and we need her. Geer had a problem or two at 3rd again but with her bat we can live with that until next year. Thought we would go with Gabriel but was hoping for Moss and her energy. It finally worked out but Gabriel seems to rattle easily.

Who is the left-hander for kentucky who's pitching now? She looks pretty tough--and we have a heavy left-hand hitting lineup. That's usually a good thing--except when you face a good lefty! Is Nunley righty or left?

Nunley is their main pitcher she is from Soddy Daisy we chose Gabriel over her

I thought it was a rather lackluster win. The pitching and defense were fine. But the hitting, which has carried the team all year, was a bit anemic. The bats need to boom, because at some point the defense or pitching will falter - and if Rainey can't pitch it will be even more important for the bats to get going.
