Gaffin is pitching so much because the coaches have decided she's our best pitcher. She's now our No. 1.

According to the florida posters on another board that is all softball 24/7/365 they didn't come play tonight and the better team won....crazy they didn't bring it and only lost 2-1 to littlejohn who is now bama's top pitcher

Don't buy any of that. They are 33-2. As impressive as they are, they are going to drop a few here and there. Especially since practically the whole league is ranked.

But, they've gotten to the point that when they lose, everyone wonders what happened or thinks it was some sort of miracle.

They'll drop a few more before the year is over.

Great to start out a series on the road with a win. We need one of this last two and hopefully both. Great chance to win a series on the road which is huge in the SEC.

Game two.

Geer singles, steals second but is called out for leaving early. Vines strikes out looking. Gregg walks. Overstreet strikes out looking. Sour ending to what looked to be a promising start.

Lowary isn't wild like she was last night. The LV's may not get many runs today.

Top of second. Geathers flies out. Gaffin beats out an infield single. Ball bounced off the pitcher's glove. Aucoin grounder to third but the throw to second was wide. Both runners safe. McSwain hard liner off the pitcher's shoulder. All three runners safe.

All together now...bases loaded.

Tennessee has more bases loaded opportunities than any team I have ever seen.

Leach bloop single to left. Gaffin scores. Bases still loaded. Geer bases clearing double to right! Three runs in! 4-1 TN.

Lowary out Finucane in as pitcher for Missouri. I didn't see this inning coming. Lowary looked better in the first inning than she did at any time last night.

Vines at bat. Geer at second. One out. Bring her Brooke baby. Ground out to the pitcher. Geer to third. Gregg strikes out. Oh well.

Top of third. Overstreet strikes out swinging. Geathers who's in a big slump after starting the season on fire strikes out on three pitches. Gaffin strikes out looking. Lame inning for the LV's. Finucane is sharp for Missouri.

Bottom of third. Called third strike for first out. Single to short center. One on.

Top of the order with Crane. Oh no. McSwain drops a foul ball that should have gotten her out. Dang it.

Now something wrong with Gabriel's finger. Staff to the circle. Blister, nail, blood, I'm not sure. It's her fourth finer of her pitching hand. She stays in.

Good God. Crane with a 2-run blast over the score board to straight away center. 4-3 TN.

Why oh why did McSwain drop the foul? Karen to circle. Moss warming up. Erin stays in.

Gadbois beats an infield single. She's fast. TN had trouble with the top of the order last night and it continues today.

Fagan flies out to Vines in left. Two out. Clean up hitter up. Gadbois steals second easily. Got her swinging! Inning over.

Mizzou claws back. 4-3 TN.

Aucoin hit by pitch but ump makes her stay. Says elbow was over the plate. It was pretty close so I won't argue. She grounds out to first.

McSwain works a full count then walks. Leach with a long fly over the center fielder's head but she makes a great running catch dang it. McSwain barely makes it back to first. Two out.

Geer singles up the middle. She is on fire.

Vines grounds out. Missed opportunity there.

4-3 TN.

Fly out to Vines in left. Ground out to Gregg at short. Strike out swinging after a 3-1 count.

Despite the inning, Erin isn't pitching well IMO. She's trying to "place" her pitches instead of just pitching. Her rise ball is too often way high and her off speed stuff is not good enough to fool the top of the line up. We'll see.

That's what I'm thinking, also. Erin is not pitching the top of the Mizzou lineup well enough for this lead to hold.

Time for Gregg to tag one. She strikes out looking after getting ahead 2-0. Jeez.

Time for Overstreet to tag one. She also gets ahead in the count 2-0, works a full count, then walks.

Geathers needs to break out of her slump. She needs to bunt her way on. She's swinging away, though. Two strikes then check swing strike out. She may need to sit till she works it out.

Gaffin also not exactly a ball of fire at the plate lately. She's hacking at everything fouling it off. Patience Rainey. Strikes out swing at a ball a foot off the ground.

Jesus. Routine grounder to Leach and Aucoin drops the ball. It hit right in her glove and she drops it. Another error. Runner safe. I am sick of these unforced errors.

Bunt to third and McSwain promptly throws the ball into right field. Right on cue with another error. Runners at second and third no outs. Erin isn't pitching all that stellar but she gets absolutely NO HELP from her teammates. Instead of talking about how her teammates have got her back, Erin needs to kick their butts. There's something to be said for busting your teammates chops when they need it.

Now the top of the order and Crane. Missouri can bust this thing open here.

Crane pops out to McSwain. I'm astounded she didn't drop it.

God dang almighty if McSwain doesn't field a bunt and does absolutely nothing with it. She stands there not knowing what to do. She had a play at first. Bases loaded.

It's on you Erin, you will get no help from your infield. You will have to retire the side yourself if you want to keep the lead.

She walks in a run. Tie game, bases loaded, still only one out. Erin stays in. Induces a pop fly out to Aucoin. I'm astounded she also didn't drop it.

3-2 count to the next batter and then a strikeout! Way to go Erin!

1st, 3rd, and 5th innings have been bad. That's when the top of the Mizzou order is coming to bat. TN has to figure this out.
