No. Actually the intent was UConn up two, gets laid low by a three point shot that Sara drops last second. Had nothing to do with winning by a bucket which clearly would be a two point margin. Not nearly as inspiring when it has to be explained. He was humorously pointing out the posters less than stellar math skills……it was a joke, and it was funny.
I doubt that, he always has number 1 recruits and a stacked team.It has very little to do with the players on the court and a great deal to do with the coach on the sidelines.
I hate him, but you could give Geno a team of decent high schoolers and within 2 days I’d bet you anything he could beat half the current top 25 teams.
I don't disagree that he's a great coach and you never see him with underperforming (by normal standards) teams. But he also has a knack for winning titles when he has the best player on his side. Depending on how you feel about the 1995 team, I don't think they've won when they were a "true" underdog in the title game (note: even in Stewart's freshman year when ND beat them 3x, you knew it was only a matter of time before it was going to click for her).It has very little to do with the players on the court and a great deal to do with the coach on the sidelines.

Except that Parker and Griner were better for two of the years lol. No disrespect to Maya. Great player. If she came to Tennessee, they would have easily gotten another 2 titles at least.Completely agree. He's one of the best, but much like Phil Jackson, he knows you don't win without the best, either. That's one of the big reasons why the whole Moore thing stuck in Summitt's craw so fiercely. She knew whoever got Moore was in the driver's seat for a few years.
Franklin has played in bigger games having played 6 NCAA tournament games, including 2 Sweet 16 games against Stanford, one in a year in which they won National Championship. She was the best player on Missouri State's team 2 years ago when they finished the season ranked 14th in the Coaches Poll. In both games against Stanford she had double digit rebounds, even as a freshmen. But not as athletic now so bigs of UConn could be an issue for her this yearWe'll need her bigtime, but my fear is she's just a little short for their bugs, er bigs.
For all our transfers, this is by far the biggest game of their careers. RJ did play, and play quite well, in the SEC tourney finals against SC her freshman year, not sure that matches this. Big, big opportunity.
No, the lower bowl is mostly sold out except perhaps for some resale tickets, but the tickets they released in the upper deck for sale haven't sold out. They are hoping for 15,000 fans, which would be the 2nd biggest crowd for women's basketball this year so far (the biggest was Mizzou at S. Carolina - 15,400+).Is tonights game soldout?
That tells me they drive down the lane and draw fouls. We will have to be very disciplined on our screen switching and over/under strategies, as well as help defense.Looked over many of the UConn boxscores. You have to keep them off the free throw line as they are scoring a lot of points at the line.
Griffin certainly gets fouled a lot because of that. Edwards draws her fouls in the post. The other thing is the fouls on putbacks, which the 3 bigs all do a good job of doing. The team as a whole is a very good FT shooting team usually. That tells me they drive down the lane and draw fouls. We will have to be very disciplined on our screen switching and over/under strategies, as well as help defense.
