Pat would have corrected that Fragility by her freshman year. or run her off.

I know that's the prevailing myth, but its really not true. I can think of several over the years who were frequently on edge emotionally, including some really good players. And yes, they clashed with Pat throughout their careers but both sides were able to work thru it. Semeka Randall comes to mind.

I believe Burrell is getting good looks because defenses are collapsing on Davis and she is kicking the ball back out rather than forcing the shot. Burrell to her credit is knocking down the shots.

She’s due for a big game for sure. Hopefully it’ll come naturally. If they can all click and get in a rhythm we could be dangerous. From this game I think it’s pretty clear they worked on offense this week in practice lol. Game was added on short notice and not much time for film and defensive game plan.

I’m sure she will be okay. Offense looked better because we shot over 50% but I am more concerned about our defense. The Furman guards seemed to get a step on the drive then would kick it out for the score. This is the 3rd game I’ve watched and this has been a recurring theme that we’ve not defended well.

Furman clogged the middle down low and the refs just stopped calling fouls....except for charges. We need to get better at playing through contact. When fouls aren’t being called, can’t expect to score at the line so we’ve got to play through the contact and sink the shots down low.

I do not understand Key's play .She has always been kinda meek and non physical in her play but she showed some real flashes last year .She has not started this year and is even playing more timid this year....in any event she is not showing any aggressiveness on the boards ,on offense but some on defense.She has such potential which is not being tapped .I was hoping Mr Harper would really work with her development this year but so far any development he has tried to make has not surfaced at least to me.Someone needs to give her a shot of confidence and the only way to do that is coach her up ,turn her loose and play her a lot .... and I mean a lot. This team is going nowhere unless they can get Key playing aggressively and with confidence.

We seriously need to improve our post play and find someone to help Burrell with the scoring. KJH has to find a set lineup and go with it, barring injuries and foul trouble. I was happen to see Jaden hit from the three. We are also passing up shots to make passes. That is especially true with Horston and Davis. We need more players with the scoring instincts of Burrell.

Enjoyed the game much better defense in the second half they only get 20 points. Jaden McCoy swishing the three what a surprise that was. She actually looked really good moving around the floor as well maybe she can get in the rotation. Bring that three with you to Texas Lady Vols.

She was wide open because we did what Furman tried to do most of the night....stretch the defense. That and I’m sure the scouting report didn’t mention her shooting prowess from 3. Actually, I am surprised we got as many points as we did given the fouls and loose balls In the 2nd half.

As a senior, I expect she is comfortable enough with herself that she doesn’t mind sharing and trying to get a higher % shot. Unfortunately, she is fouled a lot and does not get the calls and that takes a mental toll eventually. Furman was all over her all night so this game provided an opportunity for other players. I thought she had some really nice rebounds under duress.

Agreed. Shooting slumps to the most elite players. Who knows the very weird off season may not have gone well for her in ways that we don't know. She will get it going but the immediate question is will happen at Texas. If Burrell and Davis both had good games, the offensive foundation is there to be competitive.

I agree with you that the defensive intensity needs to pick-up. Furman missed a lot of uncontested 3s-- against a better team, not closing out on the outside shooters would be a big problem.

Yes our posts are pretty easily frustrated with even minimal contact. We’ve got to get more in there offensively.

Yes a win is a win. It wasn’t pretty but there were multiple bright spots. Even an ugly win goes into the win column. It’s what you do with that ugly win that counts.

this team shocks me sometimes. we think we know them and then BAM your like "what the hell just happened" lmfaooo when McCoy was hitting 3's likes it was 2nd nature to her I became very confused and said "this cant be real"

Agree 100% .I do not believe we can compete and win against top 15 teams if we do not have better post play on the boards and scoring offensively which to me means we need Key more aggressive moves to the basket, better boxing out by her on defensive end and mixing up physically overall......need more coaching up and more playing time and with the 1st unit out there.Plus she needs to set a starting lineup ( including Key ),play them into good shape ( with the rotations she is using no one seems to be in shape except maybe Burrell....Davis seems out of shape and that maybe is contributing to her funk.

Jessie has become a more complete player than she was last year. She's not the most athletic player on the floor but she works darn hard on defense and has learned to take what the defense gives her on offense. I'm really happy for Jessie she seems like a good kid too.

The best stat we had was 90 points on 62 shot attempts which is awesome. The worst stat 20 fouls by the team in forty minutes. We do an unusual amount of fouling and hope that we can get this under control. We can't and won't play that efficient on offense this season so hopefully we won't be losing the foul line every game reason we lost at W Va.

3 rb's from your starting post player? and almost no scoring from her either? 5 times the mpg for 1 fourth of production. Can you say "Free Emily"?

Let it go! Clearly you have a thing against her and a thing for ES. IF you can't tell the difference between the two of them (one is 6'5" and the other being 6'1") I don't think you ever will!
