Game Thread: Lady Vols Vs LSU ; Sun Feb 9th ; Away game; 4 PM Eastern: ESPN

LV starters scored 71 of 77 points while 5 bench players only scored 6 points. With the amount of subbing LVs do that is concerning. One would expect the non-starters to have a larger % of total points scored for mass subbing approach to work consistently. Otherwise, scoring droughts will be an issue.

It’s a small matter, the LV’s played to the wire on the road against a top 5 team. A few breaks here or there…

This team is going to be hell to play in both upcoming tourneys, CKC has done an amazing job in her first year, she has built a contender, and TN is a contender no matter what the negative Nellie’s keeping posting. Wouldn’t surprise me at this point if they got to the EE tbh, or maybe more in a favorable bracket.

I mean, really, I hope SC never sees them again tbh.

This team fights every game .. hate for the loss but to play at LSU and keep it close , especially after the emotional win over UConn , kudos to them ! I’m proud of how they hang tough in every game they play in.. at the beginning of the season , not many of us , if any at all , thought this team would compete like they have each and every game on their schedule, especially in the SEC conference.. yes , free throw shooting can improve , yes, patience on offense can improve and yes defense can improve .. however , when all that happens , and it will , I would hate to be the team who plays them in the NCAA tournament.. Keep playing tough Lady Vols ! Always support ya win or lose !! On to the next one !! 🏀💪🏼🧡

Tighten up half court defense just a little and slow down the turnovers and they will be fine. Make a few more at the rim, get Cooper to take a few less bad shots.

We get in the paint at the foul line but tend to dribble into trouble and turn it over often.

LSU took two more free throws than the LV's did, but they made 7 more. The reason for the loss is LSU had 6 less turnovers and took 12 more fga's. That last number is a stat that we usually dominate in.

Let’s compare traveling calls, offensive fouls, contact at the rim with no calls, etc.

Take the one they called on our steal at half court attempt where we never gained possession, but Dee gleefully called one anyway, contrasted with having to watch the half court shot replay where even the announcers pointed out 4 steps. No review necessary with a fair whistle.

LSU made a bunch of great plays, but still might not have won with a REASONABLY even whistle. Sadly we can never know.

No such thing as a moral victory, but this one goes into the immoral loss category. Not a small list for more than just UT.

Maybe in the tournament we can get an even whistle, even if poorly called.

Was hoping for a quality away win, but on the bright side we are going to be very dangerous next season. Close losses now will turn into wins in the coming years, we haven't come close to our ceiling yet.
That’s the hope. All the mistakes being made now will be fixed with better players that are quicker, make more shots, defend better, take care of the ball better.

We are 23 games into the season, how much improvement can one reasonably expect from here to end of season? It's not like we are getting a player back that is injured so we are dealing with the hand we have. Probably just comes down to match ups for the rest of season. Against athletic teams it will be a struggle and 50-50 whether LVs win or lose.

I can't wrap my head aound folks who actually believe the refs job the Vols, in every sport, every single game. If refs are crooked, you'd think they'd change up teams to cheat for just to keep the public off balance. Do you really think it's personal against the Vols with every single ref and ref organization in the world? Are we that important?
