yes, but they’re still gonna look at who u lost to. losing to LSU and OK at home is much different than auburn and texas a&m.

Doesn’t put you back in the conversation at all though. Still a team that’s close but no cigar until we beat someone that matters. These two games at home were our best chance for a statement win.

Hard to make up for all the easy shots we gave up the 1st quarter and half. Got to stop dribble penetration through the last one was hope and a prayer. Just get better on defense and we can beat anyone. GLV

Gonna have to get better on defense. They are selling backcourt swarming pressure as good D. When the ball beats the traps and crosses the half line on a dead run, players are going to have to sprint to the basket. First player has to stop the ball and second one takes the first pass. Defenders then close out on shooters from inside out. Rebounding must become a priority in practice.

We are not going to win close games against good teams until we can finish at the rim. To many missed shots. That's where you can put teams away and we just are not there yet.

Easy to see what were missing on this team is a big post player. If we had one we'd be winning these games.

Agreed. For the first time in a long, long time I feel really good about our guard play. We needed to make stops there in the 4th quarter that we didn't get, but I'm so impressed with our guards' abilities to make big play after play.

Hollingshead finishes as our +/- leader. The Vols were +11 for the 20 minutes she was on the court, -13 when she wasn't.

Latham and Spencer finish +8.

Lowlights:

Another bad game for Spearman, Puckett, and Spear, who are again our bottom 3. -11, -11, and -10.

Nope. When you score 25, and yet still end up -10 in the +/-, that means you are one heck of a defensive liability, and that you likely aren't generating offensive opportunities for your teammates.

Great game by the ladies. Nothing to hang the head about. Proving we can play with the big girls again!! The only thing I would have done differently is I believe we had fouls to give so when she started her drive we should have fouled and made them inbound it again. They were out of timeouts and it would have made OT more likely.

This is a really good team....but this was fustrating to watch u mean to tell me we dont have players wit higher basketball IQS than this they have to learn how to make adjustments on the fly but when its all said and done they gone need to get down in stance and guard somebody or every team that has a pulse going to be the same results....no moral victories this way we can compete wit anybody learn how to finish the deal

i’d have much rather given gilbert the shot she had (a left handed off balance throw) than two free throws.

It makes a big difference in the net rankings etc... that the NCAA uses to seed teams.

It really sucks we couldn't pull off the win, but if we get the normal officiating that any other team in the country would get in its own gym then we win. The officiating wasn't bad overall, but it was the typical BS where LSU got a call that was wrong whenever they needed one to keep the lead.

It doesn't matter how good UT gets, we will never get those calls.

Either way, we will win these games when we start playing four quarters. Recruits can see how they would be the ones to make a difference in getting us over the hump so we have a lot to sell them.

Oklahoma and LSU is not overrated… if we can beat the teams like Alabama and Vandy and the others… we can finish in the top 4 in the SEC. That’s a win
