Cause we didn't need a three to win. We needed two points and one to tie. It just wasn't the right call if that was the designed play.Yeah, even if we missed, I could accept that we made the right call there, but I just don’t get having your worst shooter statistically taking the last shot from that distance no matter how open she was. Here we are again talking about how hard we fought to come back against a top team but no win to show for it. Luckily, there are other games on the schedule where we can hopefully get the big win that we’ve been needing as a program.
she does have a good mid-range game and i would have liked my odds better there.. in addition if you drive you have a great chance of getting to the line to win the game that way.I wish they would've let Cooper drive it I could've accepted the loss better if she failed taking it to the basket. Just did not like a three from any player one point down. Chance to get fouled is there on a drive.
Yep, I pointed out their affect early on in the game. Too much poorly regulated emotion. Even at the end Jewel was lobbying for a foul on the three she shot when if she had hustled back she could have stopped the outlet pass. She is not the worst offender here but they need to watch the men's team and how they never stop hustling to lobby the refs when the game situation demands they hustle. From CKC's radio interview:
Didn't bring urgency on D for all 4 quarters--again!
Got into our selves feeling bad when shots weren't dropping. We will show them their body language. Wasted a quarter.
OU averages 18 more rebounds than their opponents. LSU averages 17 more. We will see whether we fix this or not.
I’m never happy with a loss, you lose by 1 point or 30 points it’s the same, to me, no moral victories. Losing a conference game this early doesn’t put them in a good spot, they were exposed and that’s fine.
You don’t see much better than Beers tbh. There might be a few better but she’s up there with the best.Yep, I pointed out their affect early on in the game. Too much poorly regulated emotion. Spearman was the no-show. We will have to see if that was just a one-off or if that is what happens to her against bigger posts. Because I will tell you right now, we will face MUCH better posts than Beers.
Another thing to remember is that Kim will have an SEC learning curve too. But she analyzes exactly what the problems are correctly and will get everything out of this team that it has.
Yeah, I am going to assume that was not the designed play even if Kim says she had every faith in the world that she would make it bc that is what a good, kind coach should say. I think Oklahoma had every intention in the world to let Puckett be the one to shoot it, and it paid off for them.Cause we didn't need a three to win. We needed two points and one to tie. I didn’t mind the shot. A wide open three is the same as a free throw. I didn’t like how she stood still while the ball rolled by her though. “Somebody should get that ball.. Not me!”

Interesting. I’m not gonna bother to look but did you comment last year when the SC player, who had not made a 3 all year, was given an open look that she made to hear us.
