After getting behind 15 to 4 good comeback now we need a great third quarter.

Excellent run of defense and offense, but then a bit of a fizzle in the last two minutes. DD had an open 8 footer and decided to pass to someone under the basket who'd assumed that DD was shooting. Bad decision. Then Nared misses an easy shot to end the half. You have to make those shots. But a good second quarter and yet another horrible first quarter.

It started with Reynolds. If she can show that kind of energy and share it with her teammates every game, we'll be a much better team.

And in Diamond's defense, that pass has to be caught and put in for an easy layup. Middleton was looking but just didn't catch it.

We have to stop their three attempts and keep getting in the paint for shots. If they fall or not that is our best game plan.

Hope we continue to work on and play the zone. I think it suits this roster much better. Middleton actually did a very nice job defensively in it.

Our defense has been very aggressive, even in a zone, much like the better parts of the Texas game. Let's see if they can keep it up.

The zone was what turned the momentum to the LV.Otherwise playing the man/woman they would likely be behind by double digits.The LV's quickness in man defense is just plain sad to watch....there is not a single one that can keep their woman in front of her and are beaten like a drum to an easy layup.

I'd give anything to work with DD.
She can turn it on and off at will.
It will take coaxing to get her to go 100% every moment.
You don't coach passion but you do coach effort.

I noticed that the commentators showed what to do when Mercedes is double teamed, but I have never seen the LVs do that.

I worry we'll come out tense or settle into some of our old bad habits. You can't turn down 8 foot shots don't try to pass take the shot. I hope we can have a huge third quarter and get a decent lead.

Mercedes should NEVER dribble! 90% of the time if she brings the ball down it is taken from her. And the coaches HAVE to do something to get her down the court faster (jetpack? overboard?)
