Game Thread Lady Vols vs Syracuse in the Elite 8

During interviews today, Holly said DD, Bashaara and Carter are all fine and will play. She said Reynolds is still being evaluated and they don't know if she'll be able to go. Doesn't sound promising for Reynolds. Wonder who'll start if Reynolds is a no-go-- Cooper or Carter?

I'd much prefer Cooper because at least she looks to score and usually in attack mode.

I hope Reynolds can go, too, but Cooper seems to be the best Plan B... especially if it's a Good Cooper day.

Alaina Coates was quoted saying that Syracuse played "borderline dirty" inside and that refs weren't calling it. Hope the LVs are ready for it, because it may not be called tomorrow, either.

What a bad turn of events for Jordan and the team. you know that this would be a game she wants desperately to play in and the team could sure use her. This is a match-up where the LVs would like to have all their guard options.

I don't think it really matters who starts between Te'a or Draya because both will be needed and both will need to play well.

To me Holly must track Brianna Butler every move she can shoot lights out from 3

Today Syracuse will pack it in so tight that the 12 footer will be open all game long. If the guards can make this shot we will win. No way they will press us or guard the perimeter tightly. There one concern will be to cut off the bigs from getting the ball or making plays. This has been the best formula for beating Tennessee and we'll see it again today. Look for a low scoring game because if we get past 70 we win.

If Reynolds can't go we need to go with Cooper. Hopefully it will be the good Cooper not the bad one.

it seems it has been like that since the Tournament started,of course i haven't watched any other games ,just all Lady Vols

It was absolutely atrocious during the Baylor/Florida State game. I hate Baylor almost as much as I hate UConn, but even I could see that the FSU players were flopping every time a Baylor player came near them. I've never seen so many charges called in a single game.

Thanks, Mule. I know you are a big fan in the same vein as I am. Tired of the **** from the late coming outlanders regarding the Lady Vols. I really hope everyone is healthy and ready to go tomorrow. OSU (losers) put quite a physical beat down on them when the officials weren't looking or didn't care.

Thanks,Sly,I thought maybe I was overreacting because I kept thinking OSU was playing dirty. Thought it was just me. Glad you concur.

Please stick with the 1-2-2 zone with Diamond at the top and guard Butler just like Mitchell was guarded. The length, athleticism and speed this team possess can wreak havoc on the defensive side of the ball.

maybe if we can get to the final four we can get a commitment from somebody to play for us next year--if anyone is left. Hard to believe we've got zero recruits--unheard of. We've been pathetic in our last two elite eight games. Let's hope for a good game today.

Paper is still listing as 8:30 in some places and 3:30 in others, pretty sure it is 3:30 so don't miss it because of bad info. The 1st time I saw was 8:30 and I would have missed it if I hadn't looked in a diff place.

I don't see how Syracuse can stop both Russell and Graves from scoring. The Syracuse defense has a mighty task ahead of them.

Syracuse forces a ton of turnovers. This is the Lady Vols biggest flaw.

Best I can remember Syracuse shut down the paint last time we played. Don't think we were prepared. Should be a different story today. GLV!!

My honest opinion about todays game and i hope im wrong. The Lady Vols have struggled all year long. Now on the cusp of a final four. We have every thing to lose. Syracuse will be much looser. Tennessee has the most pressure on them. I hope they just come to play.
