the lady Vols did get rattled and then Cooper turned the ball over how many times ?

I think it would have been a different game with Reynolds,if she could have played she would have settled them down on Offense

The Holly press should be classic. Just play a replay of all the others. She is clueless. Only Dooley made fewer or worse adjustments.

This program has fallen so far since Pat! Not too long ago we would get upset if we were not playing for a championship just about every year! It's sad that our program cannot compete with the upper tier.

The bottom line is the coach! He/she get's the credit when we win and they rightfully get the blame when we lose. Holly followed the greatest of all time and she has proven over the last SEVERAL YEARS she cannot compete with the elite. Time for a change or we are not going to get out of our current medoricty. Holly tried, Holly failed, time to move on!

UConn will win the title game by 50 points. They will beat the crap out of the Washington vs Syracuse winner. Their biggest challenge is winning against Texas and probably Baylor and they will probably win both of them by 25.

Some of you guys are ridiculous.

Even before Warlick became HC, programs around the country were closing the gap in talent, coaching, and even how much money they spend on their Lady basketball programs.

It's been a while since the Lady Vols have been to the Final 4 and Warlick was not HC during all of those misses. In her first few years as HC, she's done what most programs have been unable to do in their entire history.

Someone mentioned the similarities with CP Fulmer's last years on Rocky Top. I think we'd be wise to also remember what happened when he left - especially considering the success Warlick has shown in her first few years. This team is not far from winning another title.

congrats to the Lady Vols , they made a very good run in the Tournament, especially after the regular season they had,I do hate that it ended this way,but

as all ways Go Lady Vols :clapping:

Completely agree. This team was predicted to go to the Final 4. Instead, they get blowed out again in the Elite 8 and finished out of the top 25 for the 1st time in 30 years.

Decided not to watch the second half. Knew what the outcome was going to be. The Syracuse coach was more of a dominant presence in the game than Holly and I knew that would be the difference.

No one is closing the gap on UConn they beat the team that beat us twice by 60 points. I understand that teams are better but when you have supposedly the same number of All American high school players as UConn you expect to beat teams that have one or two. We don't come close. The players we put on the floor today were ranked in their class, 1,3, 5, 6, and 3.

Their guards took it to the lady vols. They were very aggressive offensively and didn't hesitate to take the 3 point shot and were rewarded nicely. Tennessee, on the other hand, played very timidly on offense, were to one dimensional and made a ton of mistakes. Holly reminds me of a very timid person and I think the lady vols emulate that same demeanor on the court a lot of times. Holly needs to embrace the 3 point shot..start recruiting guards who can actually shoot the daMN ball. Diamond won't be able to bail holly out forever.

The recruiting misses are my biggest concern at this point. There are a lot of teams that will be even better than they were this season because of great 2016 recruiting, so next year might be quite disappointing.

Your logic is flawed in so many ways! Coach S did regress some the last couple of years for obvious reasons. However, she left Holly with great talent and now Holly is playing with her talent! Not like Fulmer more like when Battle left! Tennessee needs a strong coach that can both coach and recruit. Take your orange colored glasses off and look at the facts! Proof, what top tier recruits are coming in next year? My guess is we will see some jump ship over the next several months.

I wish Holly could coach at Tennesse but she simply can't! Again, time to move on ...

Yeah, Cooper needs guidance and coaching. She's talented, but plays out of control so much of the time. The team got away from what's been working, and that's where good coaching could have reined them in and gotten them back on track.

Part of the reason Syracuse got so hot was we let their confidence skyrocket. They knew the game was theirs to lose right after halftime. The LVs were visibly deflating, and Holly had that befuddled look. It's so discouraging to watch things self-destruct under a HC who wants to bring the program back to its glory days but has no idea how to do it.

When diamond made the back to back three point shot, I thought Tennessee was going to be able to come back and squeak it out, but then cooper turned the ball over and from there cuseems scored 7 straight and that was the ball game

Imo they need to change their strategy on which type of guards they recruit.

Thank you girls for all your effort. The last few game, you really showed what you are capable of doing. Here is to you Bashara, thanks for a great four years. Here is hoping you find some reward for your hard work.

For next years team, good luck in the future, hopefully you will have a group of coaches that will bring you much success.
